- Statistics – Tom Lyda
- Latest statistics report is available and posted to the website.
- Website – Brent Johnston
- Brent continues to work with the club staff to explore the functionality of Golf Genius as a potential replacement for all or some of the functionality of our website. At this point, the Golf Genius functionality for Playday signups seems “clunky”.
- The Club Life app is “home grown” by Club Corp, who is continuing to fix the problems that keep being identified.
- President – Steve Hendricksen
- MGA/Golf Committee Updates
- KCC has been allocated some limited funds to repair cart paths. A contractor has been hired to replace the worst areas on the Forest Course. Work will begin on August 24. Estimated completion is August 31. The Forest Course will be closed during the process. The need for cart path replacement on all courses is substantial and expected to take several years. Starting in October, KCC course maintenance staff will begin to apply temporary fixes to “Priority 1” areas on the Island, Lake and Marsh courses.
- New KCC local rules have been published and will require OFWW to amend its Rules of Play and Local Rules, specifically numbers 10 and 11, that relate to bulkheads and washed-out areas next to bulkheads. These areas are now considered not part of the golf course and are now to be played as penalty areas. The boundary of the penalty area will be defined by a red stripe or in its absence, the edge of the grass or the earth. Steve made a motion to replace the existing OFWW Local rules 10 and 11 with the new KCC local rule as explained above. Patrick seconded the motion. Motion passed.
- The ClubCorp Charity Classic will be played in September. OFWW has been asked for a $50 contribution towards a silent auction basket. Steve also suggested we contribute $250 to the Employee Assistance Fund. Both requests were approved by the Board and will be considered again for the 2022 budget.
- New Business
- Bylaws Modification and Approval
- Draft of the new bylaws will be distributed to the Board for review and approval by September The new version, as approved by the Board, will be made available to the membership via the website by mid-September. Comments and suggested changes will be reviewed by the Board by early October. Final version to be submitted to membership for electronic voting by October 15.
- There was significant discussion regarding the removal of the reference to the traditional holiday dinner from the Bylaws and whether that dinner should be partially subsidized by funds from the OFWW Treasury. The Board concluded that given the significant difference of opinions by individual board members the membership should be polled. Proposal made by David Bradley to pose three questions to the membership:
- Are you in favor of the bylaws containing a requirement for OFWW to sponsor an annual Holiday Banquet?
- Are you in favor of the cost of the Holiday Banquet being partially funded by OFWW dues?
- Are you in favor of the 2022 OFWW Budget including an item of up to $2,200 to partially subsidize the Holiday Banquet?
- Bylaws Modification and Approval
- MGA/Golf Committee Updates
- Meeting adjourned at 3:10 PM. Next meeting September 14 after the Bash.
