2023 DIVOT DAY PROJECT
OFWW sponsors a Divot Day project on a Wednesday in the Spring for each of the KWCC Courses. The dates for 2022 are listed below:
Wednesday February 9 2022 Marsh Course (Divot Day Coordinator - TBD)
Wednesday March 9 2022 Lake Course (Divot Day Coordinator - TBD)
Wednesday April 13 2022 Island Course (Divot Day Coordinator - TBD)
Wednesday May 11 2022 Forest Course (Divot Day Coordinator - TBD)
We assemble at the main clubhouse at 7:00 am for coffee, a ”kick-off” breakfast, pick up our carts and proceed to the assigned Course at 7:30. After our work is complete (usually a little over one hour) we will return the carts to the main clubhouse.
We will have four divot teams, with a team captain assigned to each. A team will start from either the tee box on holes 1 or 10 or from the green on holes 9 or 18… to eventually meet together on holes 5 or 14. A member volunteering as the overall project coordinator will earn three volunteer points; Hole Captains will earn two volunteer points and all other participants will earn one point.

Divot Day Process
1. OFWW President works with the KCC golf staff in November and December to set the schedule for the divot days for the up-coming year and informs KWGA accordingly.
2. Divot day Schedule is placed on OFWW website.
3. Web-site coordinator prepares sign-up web page for members to sign-up and to volunteer to be coordinator or hole captain. KWGA does their own sign ups.
4. Communications Coordinator will send out emails to members at least one week before the scheduled work day. (See sample below)
5. OFWW President will send list of participants to divot day coordinator and to KCC golf staff focal point to set hole captain teams and to finalize breakfast and drinks for divot day.
6. Divot day Coordinator will sign-in participants including any KWGA participants and provide hole captains with list of team members.
7. Divot day coordinator will send a final list of participants to the OFWW President and KCC golf staff focal point to update volunteer points spreadsheet.
