PLAYER INFORMATION

FORMAT:

  • All players will compete in a 36-hole, individual net stroke-play championship.  
  • The championship field will be divided evenly into three flights based on each player’s Handicap Index as of November 21.   

 

Flight Breakdown:

  • Low Flight: Participants with Handicap Indexes 5.4 and below.
  • Middle Flight: Participants with Handicap Indexes 5.5-12.9.
  • High Flight: Participants with Handicap Indexes 13.0 and above.

 

  • During the championship, players will use their Handicap Index (as of November 21) and will receive 95% of their Course Handicap. Those without a valid handicap index as of November 21 will play to a Course Handicap of 0. 
  • Awards will be presented to those who finish 1st in their respective flight (3) as well as the Overall Low Gross Winner (1).
  • All ties will be broken using the USGA suggested method of matching scorecards (Committee Procedures: Section 5A (6)).

 

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:  

  • Starting holes and pairings will be e-mailed to players one week in advance of The Ramateur. 
  • Saturday, December 5
    • Registration begins at 10:00am. All participants much check in at the golf shop upon arrival Saturday morning.
    • Round 1 begins at 12:00pm. Shotgun Start.
    • Upon returning scorecards, Players BBQ Dinner on patio.
  • Sunday, December 6
    • Players Breakfast to-go at 6:45am on patio.
    • Round 2 begins at 8:00am. Shotgun Start.
    • Upon returning scorecards, Taco Bar Lunch begins at 1:00pm on patio.
    • Awards Ceremony begins at 1:30pm on patio.

    

TEES & YARDAGE:

  • Low Flight: Men will play from the GOLD yardage and tee markers. Course Rating: 73.5 / Slope: 136 / 6,830 yards / Par 72. 
  • Middle Flight: Men will play from the BLUE yardage and tee markers. Course Rating: 71.2 / Slope: 131 / 6,369 yards / Par 72.
  • High Flight: Men will play from the BLUE yardage and tee markers. Course Rating: 71.2 / Slope: 131 / 6,369 yards / Par 72.
  • All Women in all flights will play from the Red yardage and tee markers. Course Rating: 69.3 / Slope: 121. 4,979 yards / Par 72. 

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS & LODGING: 

  • Practice rounds and lodging are available at a discounted rate. Reach out to Robert Reid at robert@ramshill.com to reserve.

 

DRIVING RANGE: 

  • The driving range will be available by 7:00am on both days of The Ramateur. 
  • Range balls will be set up on the driving range compliments of Rams Hill Golf Club. 

 

FOOD & FUN: 

  • Tee gifts, prizes for Closest to the Pin on the course, Close to the Pin in the simulator, Tennis Ball Golf, and more!
  • BBQ Dinner after Round 1, Breakfast before Round 2, and Taco Bar Lunch after Round 2 are all included in the entry fee. 
  • Margarita Bar, Bloody Mary Bar, and more will be available for purchase. The beverage cart will be circling the course throughout play and the Ram Shack will be open for food and beverage purchases.
  • Major credit cards will be accepted for all purchases. 

 

RULES OF PLAY:

  • The Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA and The R&A govern play.
  • Players must abide by all COVID protocol on the course, including not touching the flagstick. 

 

AUTOMOTIVE TRANSPORTATION: 

  • Carts are included with the entry fee.

 

COVID PROTOCOLS:

  • Masks must be worn at all times while indoors or anytime appropriate social distancing cannot be maintained.
  • Single Occupancy Carts and carts with seat dividers will be available for players who are not from the same household upon request.
