City Championship Rule Sheet
Closest to the pin on holes # 7 & 14
- There will be a measuring tape off to the side that you can use and simply put your name and distance on the proximity sign if you are closer than the previous person
Scoring
- Tournament scorecards will be provided. Each player will be responsible for keeping track of another player's score. Submit and scorecard with both the player and scorer's signature at the completion of your round.
- All players are then expected to enter their scores using the Golf Genius app on their phones or tablet either during or immediately after their round.
- Once you submit your final score on the Golf Genius app it is the same as you signing your scorecard
Pin placement - Will be determined the morning of the event. The starter will provide you with the location for the day. It’s either A, B, or C.
Tee Blocks
- Championship & 1st flights will play from blue tees
- All other flights will play from white tees
Format
- 2 day total gross stroke play
- Flights are determined based on round 1 scores
- There will be 6 flights set for round 2. To determine flights, any ties will be broken by using the RCGA rules of retrogression (last 9, 6, 3, etc).
- Flight winners and the overall champion will also be determined by retrogression.
Rules
- You can move the ball up to 12 inches with your clubhead in your own fairway to improve your lie (no closer to the hole), however, you cannot move the ball from one cut of grass to another
- Bunkers will not have rakes. Play preferred lies in all bunkers (IE: use your foot to smooth out any bad lies, and place ball). If the entire bunker is underwater you may place the ball outside of the bunker and consider that bunker unplayable.
- The maximum time to search for a lost ball is 3 minutes
Hazards
- Play all bush/swamp/ponds/creeks and tree lines as lateral hazards
- Relief may be taken under penalty of 1 stroke, 2 club lengths from the point of entry no nearer to the hole
- Free relief is permitted from cedar fencing around the course if it impedes your swing or ball flight
- Do not trespass on a Crimson Ridge resident's property. If your ball is on their property, consider it lost (even if you can see it), and do not leave the Crimson Ridge property line to get it. Take your point of entry and consider it a hazard by taking your drop and proceeding to hit your next shot under a 1 stroke penalty.
Pace of play
- The pace of play will be monitored closely
- Keep up with the group in front of you at all times
- We have allocated a maximum of 4 hours and 30 minutes to complete today’s round
- There are clocks on holes 3, 6, 9, 12, and 16 that will be used to determine if a group is on pace
- If your group falls behind pace, you'll be given a warning to speed up and resume your proper position on the course. If a second warning is provided to the group, the entire group will receive a 1 stroke penalty. If a third warning is provided to the group another penalty shot will be assessed to the group. This will continue until the group resumes its proper position on the course.
GOOD LUCK & HAVE FUN!
