Welcome to our 2021 Ladies Day season!

Louise Smith and I will continue as your Ladies Day Vice-Captain and Ladies Day Captain.

Lorelle Weavers, PGA Assistant Professional, will coordinate our activities again this year.

Our opening day this year is Tuesday, June 1st and our season will run to October 5th. Our Ladies Day league is open to all women RattleSnake Point full members. We play every Tuesday with tee times (currently due to COVID) between 12:00 and 2:00, and then again at 4:00 for those ladies that prefer later tee times. If restrictions are lifted later in the summer, we will revert back to a 2:00 shotgun start with the 4:00 tee-times. We normally alternate between Copperhead and Sidewinder.

This year we are introducing a Ladies Day league registration fee of $50.00 plus HST. This league fee, based on feedback from our survey, will replace the 50/50 draw. We will use this money for flowers, gifts, staff tips and for things that make our ladies days more enjoyable – such as bottles of water for extremely hot days, and drinks and snacks for events like the Solheim Cup and the shoot-out and closing days. The $50 Ladies day fee will be automatically charged to your member account once you register for Ladies Day.

Registration each week will be done using Golf Genius.

Registration will open Wednesday mornings at 8:00 am and will close Saturday at 5:00 pm. When registration opens, you can log on with GGID RSLD21 and click the “Playing” button. Requests for a pairing may be made through a note in Golf Genius and Lorelle will send out the weekly pairings by end of day Sunday.

Our mandate for Ladies Day is to create a fun “club” environment with opportunities to socialize. We want to vary the playing groups so that we meet new players and make them feel welcome and get to know existing members that we don’t know or may never have played with.

Our format this year will be the same as last year, with an emphasis on games that will allow us to play our own ball for the majority of the time and one “team” game per month. In addition, orange tee blocks have been added for those ladies that would like to play a somewhat shorter game. Scores will be entered during the round using Golf Genius (to a maximum score of net double-bogey, at which point your ball should be picked up), and one person in the foursome is responsible for entering the scores. This will allow for timely capture of the results without having to physically handle score cards. Golf Genius will post all Ladies Day scores to Golf Canada.

Drop Zones are in play after one shot off the tee, and please putt everything out. We will review where the drop zones are placed this year to ensure that they are in challenging areas.

When provincial regulations permit, we will have space reserved for us on the terrace for a “socially-distanced” dinner. Each week there will be a Feature Menu item created for us, however, you can also order from the regular menu.

We will have weekly prizing for first, second and third place winners and individual low net, as well as “proximity” prizes (by draw) for fairways hit off the tee and greens in regulation.

Each week, points will be awarded for the top 10 finishes, and they will be accumulated for the season-long “RattleSnake Cup” points competition.

The points will be awarded as follows:

1st place 100 points

2nd place 90 points

3rd place 80 points

4th place 70 points

5th place 60 points

6th place 50 points

7th place 40 points

8th place 30 points

9th place 20 points

10th place 10 points

For ties, the points for the two relevant places will be averaged with each person receiving the same points.

Looking forward to getting out on the course and seeing everyone.
