2021 Men's Match Play

Match Play is a unique form of golf, where you play against an individual rather than the entire field. It also uses a different scoring system from regular stroke play – scoring is based on each individual hole outcome rather than the total number of shots over 18 holes.  In Match Play, players earn a point for each hole where they achieve a lower score net score than their opponent – in other words, they get a point when they “win the hole.” No points are awarded if the players net scores are tied on a given hole. The winner of the match is determined when one player has won more holes than holes remaining. It is a format that often rewards aggressive play, and one or two bad holes won't necessarily cost you a chance of winning. 

Match Play is a season long ladder-type elimination tournament where winning a match will move the golfer onto the next round and so on until there are just two players left to compete for the winner’s prize.

Note that all scoring is adjusted for handicaps to create an even playing field for players of all skill levels. The handicap system for this format truly works well so a high handicap player really does have every bit as good a chance of winning as a lower handicap player. Please don’t hesitate to sign up … it is a lot of fun and you can be competitive regardless of what stage you are at in your golfing career!

Open to Full Golf  Male Members only. 

Based on 32 players registering:

Round of 32 - must be played on or before June 29th 

Round of 16 - must be played on or before July 27th 

Round of 8 - must be played on or before August 30th

Semi Finals - must be played on or before September 17th

Finals - must be played on for before September 30th
