Funds are held by the club and distributed per the groups decisions.
MGA President: Mr. Kraig Wood
The MGA provides the ability to join a game and meet new members through scheduled events and daily games. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the Professional staff provide competitions with differing formats and entry fees that all are welcome to join. The easisest way to get involved is to join the CREW app and sign up for events when they are announced. If you would like to be added to the app, contact Cameron Alford and he will register you!
*Please note, this CREW app is not a place for political or personal views on current events.*
General Tournament Information Tournament Registration:
All tournament participants will register for events and tournaments through emailing the Professional Staff using the email address, Cameron.Alford@southerntracecc.com
Cancellations and No Shows:
Tournament reservations may be cancelled prior to the entry deadline. Those cancelling after the deadline will be billed one-half the entry fee. Players who do not cancel, fail to show up, or withdraw from an event are subject to payment of the entry fee in full. Personal situations do not exempt a player from paying the cancellation fee.
Entry Deadline:
Members wanting to participate in a specific tournament after the published deadline are encouraged to contact the golf shop for current availability. If the tournament is full, entries will be placed on a waiting list and the member will be notified when an opening becomes available. If the minimum number has not been reached for a specific tournament or event, the event may be cancelled.
Tournament Changes:
Every effort will be made to maintain the tournament schedule. However, in the event of unforeseen conflicts and/or inclement weather, Southern Trace Country Club reserves the right to make the necessary adjustments regarding the event. Official details, including formats and food and beverage functions, will be communicated through the tournament emails sent out prior to the event.
Handicaps:
All players must have a current USGA handicap index. For the major golf tournaments, where individual scores are used, the golf shop will post all scores as competition scores from the official scorecard. When a player starts, but does not complete a hole, the score recorded for handicap posting purposes is the Most Likely Score. Net Double Bogey will be used when a player’s actual score or most likely score exceeds a maximum number derived using the following formula: Net Double Bogey = Par plus two strokes plus/minus handicap strokes received or given on a hole. For an 18-hole score to be acceptable, a minimum of 14 holes must be played. When 10-13 holes are played, scores made on hole 10-13 must be discarded and only a nine-hole score may be submitted. When 14-17 holes are played, an 18-hole score must be produced by adding a score of Net Par for the remaining unfinished holes.
Eligibility to Compete in Club Events:
To be eligible to compete in any club event as a member, a player must be a member in good standing, not on the suspension list and have an official handicap index. A member who does not meet the above requirement may not participate in tournaments or as a guest of another member. Senior members who are enrolled in the Men’s Golf Association are encouraged to compete during events on the weekend. Multiple Handicaps: If a player has multiple handicap accounts, the lowest index will be used for the tournament.
