Event Overview

 

Entries Close: June 14, 2021

 

Registration Fee: $130 per player (includes range fee, lunches and prizes)

 

Format: 36-holes individual stroke play, two-day event.

 

Eligibility: Open to any male player who is a member of a Member Club or an Individual Member of Pennsylvania Golf Association. All players must not have reached their 19th birthday by June 29.

 

Yardage:  Boys Ages 14-18 will play approx. 6,750 yards. 

 

Field: Limited to 156 players. The top 30 boys from the 2020 event will be exempt in 2021.  Entries will then be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.  A wait list will be established to accommodate any overflow in entries.

 

Cart/Caddie: Automotive transportation is prohibited.  Caddies are permitted.  Players may use a caddie as long as the caddie’s age does not exceed 18 years old.  Parents, step-parents, grandparents and guardians are strictly prohibited from caddying. 


Spectator Carts (for viewing golf): Spectator Carts are NOT Permitted. 

 

Food & Beverage: Lunch will be provided to all players each day.  Additional food/beverage purchases will also be available.

 

Practice Rounds: Will be available on Sunday, June 27 after 11:30 a.m..  Please call the golf shop to schedule a tee time at 717-533-2464 no more than 30 days in advance.  Players may walk and carry or take a cart.  Push carts are permitted.  Payment options include Cash or Credit Card.

Practice round fee: $65

Cart fee:  $25

 

Pairings: Play will be in threesomes at 10-minute intervals.  First round results will determine second round pairings. 

 

Start Times: The PAGA staff, following as closely as practical the preferences indicated on the entry form will determine pairings and tee times.

 

Ties: In the event of a tie for the Junior Boys’ Championship there will be a sudden-death playoff immediately following the conclusion of play. For flag award presentation only, all other ties will be broken by matching scorecards in accordance with USGA guidelines.

 

In the Junior Boys’ Team Championship, the fourth score from the final round will be added to the total team score. If a tie still exists, the fourth score from the first round will be added. Teams with only three players will suffer defeat against a team with four players for failure to have a tiebreaker score.

 

Prizes: The individual with the lowest gross score after 36-holes will be declared the Junior Champion.  Prizes will also be given to the top two finishers in the Junior Championship.

 

The Boys’ team competition is the best 3 of 4 scores each day. The teams with the lowest total score after 36-holes will be declared the Junior Team Champions. The winning teams will be awarded individual prizes.

 

Special Note: The 2021 Pennsylvania Junior Championship is part of the AJGA’s Performance Based Entry program, which enables 14-18-year-old members to earn their way into AJGA Open tournaments.
