CHAMPIONSHIP REGISTRATION

 

Begins: Apr 12, 2021 at 7:00 AM ADT 

Entry Deadline: Aug 1, 2021, at 11:59 PM ADT 

Entry Fee: CAD 100

 

Open To

Members and Non-Members

Field Size: 120 players

 

 

PLAYER CHECK-IN
All competitors must check-in with Golf NB prior to their first round of competition.  Players that do not check-in may be subject to DISQUALIFICATION.

 

Players may check in with Golf NB in the Tournament Officer located at the host club.

  • August 9, 2021 - 7:00 am until the last tee time of the day.

 

 

ELIGIBILITY AND COMPETITIONS

 

Eligibility: The event is open to Amateur & Professional Golfers.

 

Competitions: The field will be divided into six (6) Competitions:

  1. Male / Male - Family Classic
  2. Female / Female - Family Classic
  3. Mixed - Family Classic
  4. Male / Male - Adult / Junior
  5. Female / Female - Adult / Junior
  6. Mixed - Adult / Junior 

 

Note: Golf NB reserves the right to cancel a competition or merge it with another depending on the size of the field in a particular category.

 

 

SIZE OF FIELD

A Maximum of 60 Teams, in total, will be accepted.  If greater than 120 entries are received, Golf NB reserves the right to expand the field to accommodate additional entries. 

 

 

EXEMPTIONS
There are no exemptions for this event.

 

 

EVENT REGISTRATION TIMELINE
A maximum of 60 teams (144 participants) will be accepted. Golf NB reserves the right to expand (or decrease) either field at any time, depending on the rate of registrations and the number of individuals pending registration, to achieve a full or expanded field. 

 

 

FORMAT

The championship will be 18 holes and a modified Pinehurst Scoring method will be used.  The partners both drive on each hole and then each plays a 2nd shot with the other’s ball.  After the 2nd shots, a choice is made regarding the ball with which the hole will be completed, playing alternate shots. Gross scores only.

 

 

OFFICIAL PRACTICE ROUND

There is no official complimentary practice round for this event.

PLAYER MEETING
There will be no player meeting as part of this event.

 

 

TEE TIMES AND DRAW INFORMATION
Starting times for the championship round will be made available on the Golf NB website 2 to 3 days prior to the event as well as being e-mailed to each participant once they are prepared.

 

Pairings will be in foursomes and in 10-minute intervals.

  • Where possible, competitors will be paired with teams from within their chosen division and who are of similar skill level, and all competitors will tee-off hole number 1.  
  • In general, pairings will be available 2-3 days prior to the first round of competition.
  • Time will be e-mailed to competitors, posted on the Golf NB website, and posted on the Tournament Information Page once they are prepared.

 

 

ORDER OF PLAY 
As the NB Family Classic will be played in conjunction with the NB Adult Junior, players can anticipate the following order of play.  Golf NB reserves the right to amend the order of play, as outlined below, depending on the number of registrations in a particular division, to achieve a full or expanded field. 

 

In general, players can anticipate the following order of play.

  • Female / Female - Family Classic
  • Female / Female - Adult / Junior
  • Mixed - Family Classic
  • Mixed - Adult / Junior 
  • Male / Male - Family Classic
  • Male / Male - Adult / Junior

 

 

PRACTICE FACILITIES

Practice Facilities at the club will be available to all tournament players for the duration of the Championship.

 

 

PRIZES

Prizes will be furnished by TaylorMade / Adidas and will include a tee gift for all players.  An overall Champion will be awarded to the team with the Low Gross score in each of the following categories.

  • Male / Male - Family Classic
  • Female / Female - Family Classic
  • Mixed - Family Classic
  • Male / Male - Adult / Junior
  • Female / Female - Adult / Junior
  • Mixed - Adult / Junior 

 

All other prizes will be distributed by random draw, with the number of prizes dependent on the size of the field. 

 

 

EVENT TEES & YARDAGES
Competitors can anticipate playing the following club tees and yardages.  Final tee placements will be determined by the Golf NB Rules Committee Chair prior to the competition.  

  • Male Competitors - A combination of “WHITE” & “BLUE” tees
    • Yardage = 5,800 to 6,200 yards
  • Female Competitors – The “RED” tees
    • Yardage = 5,300 to 5,400 yards

 

 

MEAL

A complimentary meal, or voucher, will be provided to all competitors after the round of golf.

ELIGIBILITY AND DIVISIONS

The event is open to Amateur & Professional Golfers. Teams must be made up of one parent and one child between the ages of 5 & 10 years of age, as of August 1st.

COMPLIMENTARY CLINIC

A complimentary clinic will be available to all the “Little Swingers” 1 hour before the first Little Swinger tee time start. Please, meet Golf NB and club representatives at the driving range.

As the NB Jim Connolly “Little Swingers” will be played in conjunction with the NB Family Classic & Adult Junior, players can anticipate playing back nine, and teeing off of #10.

NOTICE OF WITHDRAWAL

If you find you cannot compete in the championship, you must officially withdraw from the event by contacting Golf NB at (506) 451-1324 or by email at info@golfnb.ca. Entry fees will not be refunded after the application deadline without a medical certificate. Entry fees will be refunded, less a $25 administrative fee, if Golf NB is notified of a player’s intention to withdraw prior to the application deadline. If you do not officially withdraw, you may be subject to DISQUALIFICATION from future Golf NB and Golf Canada competitions.
