BETTER BALL “B” CHAMPIONSHIP
Entry Fee: $150 per team (2 players)
Days: 1
Eligibility: Each team member must have a Handicap Index of minimum of 14.1 on the day entries close. If a subsequent handicap revision makes a team member ineligible for the event, the team will not be required to withdraw; however, she will be required to use the maximum allowable Index or her current Index whichever is lower. If the player’s Index is lower than the minimum allowed for entry, she will not be eligible for a gross prize.
Format: One round of 18 holes of four-ball stroke play. Pairings made by the Committee. Use 85% of each player’s Course Handicap, taking the strokes as they fall on the scorecard. Trophies awarded to the members of the low gross team; prizes awarded to the members of the low net team. Ties for the gross trophy will be decided by an immediate hole-by-hole playoff beginning on the first hole. A player not present for a playoff must forfeit. Ties for the net prize will be decided by matching cards. The winner will be determined on the basis of the best net score for the last nine holes on the second day. If still tied, the winner will be determined on the basis of the best net score for the last six holes, the last three holes and finally the 18th hole. One-half, one-third, one-sixth and one-eighteenth of each player’s Course Handicap will be deducted to determine the best net score. If a tie is not broken by this procedure, a winner will be determined by blind draw.

WMGA Pace of Play Policy - Shotgun
Players should play at a prompt pace throughout the round. Players are both allowed and encouraged to play “ready golf” in a safe and responsible way (Rule 6.4b) and should make a stroke in no more than 40 seconds (Rule 5.6b).
OUT OF POSITION:
A match is out of position when it takes more than the maximum allowable time to finish a hole and:
a) Reaches par -3 that is clear of play and all players in the group have played from the teeing area of the next hole or
b) Reaches a par-4 that becomes clear of play before any player plays a stroke from the teeing area or
c) Reaches a par-5 after any player in the match ahead has made a stroke on the putting green. A match that is out of position may be timed.
A checkpoint hole is considered complete when the ball of the last player in the group to hole out has been removed from the hole.
TIMING (ON THE CLOCK) / BAD TIMES:
When the Committee determines that a match will be put “on the clock,” the players will be notified and monitored by a Rules Rover. Any group that is out of position may also ask to be monitored by a Rules Rover who will individually time strokes made by a player(s).
Each player is permitted a maximum of 40 seconds to make a stroke. A player who exceeds 40 seconds is considered to have made a bad time and will be informed as soon as possible.
Except on the putting green, the timing of a player’s stroke begins when it is the player’s turn to play without interference or distraction. Time spent determining yardage and other conditions, such as wind, will count as time taken for the stroke.
On the putting green, the timing of a player’s stroke begins when it is the player’s turn to play without interference or distraction and after a player has completed the actions allowed under Rule 13.1, provided the player is not unreasonably delaying play. Time spent surveying the line of play from any angle will also count as time taken for the stroke.
When “on the clock,” the Committee may assess a bad time to a player who delays play between shots or holes.
The Committee reserves the right to put a group, or individual player “on the clock” regardless of whether the match is out of position.
A Rules Rover will not tell a group when it has regained its position and is no longer “on the clock.” A player may inquire of the match’s status at any time.
