How to sign Up for Tournaments Using the Mobile Golf Genius App

Hopefully these visual aides along with some instruction will make it easier for you to register you and your group, as well as send in a check or pay by Credit Card. The 1st thing needed is to make sure you have the Golf Genius app on your phone or computer. Go to the App/Play Store for your phone and download the Golf Genius App. It’s a golf ball on a tee in orange background. Once you have completed the download you are ready to enjoy easy sign ups, view upcoming events, sign up date for tournaments, and when playing in a tournament to post scores by holes, view the leaderboard, and all the side pot action at your fingertips. Instead of using the app, you may use the browser on your computer to log in to GolfGenius.com and input the GGID for your login.  Golf Genius uses unique #GGID  (tournament ID #’s) for each event. It also gives each 4 some a unique  GGID# number on your scorecard for scoring that particular round. I’m sure once you have used our new program you will like all the different features it has to offer. I will list in numerical order how to sign up for a tournament and what the you will see when doing so.

1. An email will be sent out automatically to everyone on the roster that the tournament will be open, usually the day before. This information is also available on the portal page under “Tournaments and Events,” and look for “Directory of Leagues and Events.” This email will have the GGID# numer for this event which you would use at login to open up the app on the portal page. Click on the Orange GGID (A.) slide below and a place to enter the GGID#  will appear below it. Enter the tourney GGID# on the new line. Hit sign in...

2. Your next step is to click on the Member Portal link which is the 6th one down on the grey (B.) slide. This will bring you to the (C.) slide which has different items and links. Tournament Info, Pairings, Results, Statistics, Photos. You will click on the Tournament info link at the top which will take you to our Welcome, Registration Form if required an the Event Registration link slide (D.). Click on the Event Registration.

3. On the tournament event registration page slide (E.) you can register for open events by clicking on new registration link. You will click on New Registration which is the top link in red.Slide (F.)will appear which has tourney information, Click next and this will direct to the slide (G.)add your name and up to 3 other players slide (H.).  Click on the 2 boxes in slide (I.) after you have added any other players to your group. Click next. Slide (J.) will ask if you want to pay or skip payment. Click Skip Payment.

You will receive a email notification slide (K.)as well as other players in the group if more than 1 player signed up.

4. Invoices will be sent out by the tournament director for our monthly tournaments when we get back to The Wood. Hopefully soon. After the initial sign up period, invoices will be sent to all golfers about 3 to 5 days after sign ups began with the option for Credit Card payment through this program, or send in a check to the listed address. An email from the tournament director slide (L.) will have a link to pay. Click on the link to pay. Slide (M.) has a blue link that says pay now in the middle of the info, which will allow for credit card payment. If sending a check , it will also have the info on where to send it below the blue pay now. Clicking the pay now link sends you to slides (N & O) to finish the transaction. Enter your information and hit pay.

There you have it. Seems like a lot but it will become easier each time. This is a work in progress so hopefully it goes well.

LMGC Tips on Tournament Registration

Here are some words about the browser method:
Go to our LMGC Home page, http://www.lakewoodmensgolf.club/
Navigate to Tournaments and Events along the top bar,
And click to go to "Directory of Leagues and Events"  and follow the prompts to register.

GGID# for the events are found in separate emails.

Here are some words about the mobile app method:
Go to the App/Play Store for your phone and download the Golf Genius App. It’s a golf ball on a tee in an orange background.
OK, if you are there, input the given GGID for the event.

Go to Member Portal
Go to Tournament Info  (it seems like people get this far and stop)
Go to Event Registration (if the event is full, look for "add to waitlist.")

The GGID# changes for each event.  Also note, if using the GGID method, DO NOT sign in with email since that approach is for administrators; use GGID# to log in.
