FIELD LIMIT
Field will be limited to 72 qualified entrants. Entries will be accepted according to the time of receipt of entry and entry fee in addition to exempt players.
ENTRY DEADLINE
Entry applications, along with the appropriate fee, must be completed or received by the PNGA by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2020.
REFUND POLICY
After round one pairings are released, refunds will only be given for players who are replaced by a player on the waiting list. *Refunds due to COVID-19 will be granted up until a player begins the championship.

SALISHAN RESORT | MASTER-40 LODGING RESERVATIONS
Players may reserve rooms at the link above or by contacting Kristi Wiard at kwiard@salishan.com | reservations@salishan.com or 541-764-3646. When booking, ask for the PNGA Men’s Master-40 Amateur Championship rate. Players are encouraged to make reservations for Sunday – Wednesday. Players who advance to match play will have their reservations extended as needed. Players who do not advance to match play or who are eliminated later in the week will have until 4:00 p.m. each day to check out of their room.
Note: Championship participants staying at Salishan Resort will only be permitted to share a room with those they share a household with. Salishan Resort will not be charging a resort fee as all common area amenities (gym, pool, etc.) are closed due to COVID-19 state and local guidelines and recommendations.
ONSITE REGISTRATION
All contestants must register in person with the PNGA at Salishan Golf Links prior to starting round one play. Registration will be located outside the golf shop during the following times:
SUNDAY, JUNE 21: 11:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
MONDAY, JUNE 22: 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS
Round one and two starting times (stroke play qualifying) will be released at least one week prior. Preferred starting time requests will not be accepted. Starting times will be posted on the PNGA website (thepnga.org), on the Championship Portal and will be emailed to each player.
SCHEDULE
STROKE PLAY: 36 holes stroke play to determine 32 qualifiers for match play. A tie for the last qualifier's place will be decided immediately by a hole-by-hole play-off.
MONDAY, JUNE 22 (Round 1) – Starting times from 7:30 a.m. – 1:20 p.m.
TUESDAY, JUNE 23 (Round 2) – Starting times from 7:30 a.m. – 1:20 p.m.
MATCH PLAY: A draw based on qualifying scores will be used. Ties in qualifying rounds will be decided by a blind draw, except that places of those participating in a play-off will be determined by performance in the play-off.
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 24 (Round 1) – Starting times from 7:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 24 (Round 2) – Starting times from 1:00 p.m. – 2:15 p.m.
THURSDAY, JUNE 25 (Quarterfinals) – Starting times from 7:30 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.
THURSDAY, JUNE 25 (Semifinals) – Starting times from 1:00 p.m. – 1:15 p.m.
FRIDAY, JUNE 26 (Finals) – Starting time at 7:30 a.m.
PRACTICE ROUND
All players will be allowed up to two complimentary practice rounds prior to the championship. Practice rounds may be played only on Saturday, June 20 and Sunday, June 21 after 9:00 a.m. All practice rounds may be reserved by emailing Tom Graves at golf@salishan.com. Cart fees will be $25 per player. All practice rounds must be played in twosomes. When making reservations, contestants must identify themselves as a PNGA Men’s Master-40 Amateur Championship participant.
FOOD SERVICE (NO-HOST)
Shannon’s Pub located inside the clubhouse will be serving a limited breakfast menu with grab-and-go options from 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. each day. Lunch service at Shannon’s Pub will begin at 11:00 a.m. each day and remain open until dusk, serving grab-and-go options. The Attic Lounge, which is located in the main lodge, will be open with full menu service from 11:00 a.m. until midnight each day.
BOTTLED WATER
Due to COVID-19, players are encouraged to bring their own drinking water. A beverage cart will not be on the course during play.
RESORT CREDIT
In lieu of a PNGA hosted lunch for players, all contestants will receive a $25 Salishan Resort gift card at registration. Gift cards can be used resort wide for food and beverage.
METHODS OF PAYMENT
All major credit cards, cash or a resort room charge. Players will be given special member pricing (20% off) on all golf shop merchandise during the week.
HOURS OF OPERATION
The golf shop and driving range will be open each day from 6:00 a.m. to dusk, except for Sunday, June 21 when the range will close at 5:00 p.m.
LOCKER ROOM
Players may use the men’s locker room in the clubhouse. Individual locker keys can be checked out in the golf shop.
RANGE BALLS
Warm up range balls will be provided to contestants on the driving range before each round. Contestants will be allowed to hit irons and hybrids only off the grass hitting area. Woods will only be allowed off the mats to prevent balls from leaving the end of the range.
CARTS
Players and caddies may ride in a golf cart. Cart fees are $25 per seat/day. Fees will be collected during registration for stroke play qualifying. Players advancing to match play will pay cart fees directly to Salishan Golf Links prior to each round. Please contact the PNGA if you did not register for a cart during registration but would now like to add one. Carts will not be guaranteed for players who do not make a reservation during registration.
SPECTATOR CARTS
To provide an equal championship platform for all competitors, the use of carts by spectators is not permitted by the PNGA.
CHAMPIONSHIP ACCOMMODATIONS FOR DISABLED SPECTATORS
The PNGA is committed to providing an enjoyable spectator experience for people with disabilities at PNGA championships. Requests from spectators seeking transportation onto the golf course due to a permanent disability, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), should be submitted one week in advance to the PNGA Championship Department. While spectator carts may not always be available at each site, the PNGA will make every effort to accommodate these requests when available.
Generally, an ADA covered disability is defined as a “physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more of the major life activities of the individual”. See, 42 USCA §12102. Spectators with a “temporary” injury or impairment that is not an ADA disability will not be allowed use of a golf cart under this Policy.

PULL CARTS
Complementary pull carts will be available on a first come first serve basis in the golf shop.
CADDIES
Host club caddies will not be available. A player may provide his own caddie. Caddies will be required to wear a caddie bib provided on the starting tee.
PRIZES
Champion, Runner-up, Semifinalists and Quarterfinalists will all receive a trophy. The stroke play qualifying Medalist will also receive an award. In the event of a tie for Medalist honors, duplicate awards will be awarded and seeding will be determined randomly.
Awards will be given to any contestant who scores a hole-in-one or eagle during the stroke play qualifying rounds.
AWARDS CEREMONY
An awards ceremony will take place immediately following the completion of the final match on Friday, June 26.
EXEMPTIONS
Champion of the Men’s Master-40 Amateur Championship will receive an exemption into the 2021 PNGA Men’s Master-40 Amateur Championship.
PERFORMANCE POINTS LIST
Performance points may be awarded for the PNGA Men’s Master-40 Amateur Championship through the player’s respective state or provincial association.
GHIN SCORE POSTING
The PNGA will post competition scores during stroke play qualifying for all players to the USGA GHIN System. Stroke play scores will be submitted to BC Golf for posting in Canada. Players should post their adjusted match play scores.
STROKE LIMIT POLICY
Players must return a score within 12 strokes of the course rating in at least one of the two stroke play qualifying rounds. Failure to do so will disqualify the player from entering the PNGA Men’s Master-40 Amateur Championship for a minimum of one year.
DRESS CODE
Players and caddies must be neat in appearance with respect to personal grooming and clothing while on host club property. The PNGA Dress Code Policy is available at the following link: thepnga.org/championship-home/championship-policies/ and will be provided to all players, along with any additional measures required by the host club, in the Player Memorandum.
CODE OF CONDUCT
The PNGA expects all contestants, caddies, gallery, and guests to exhibit proper conduct and behavior on the golf course and anywhere on club property during a PNGA championship. Unbecoming conduct or behavior may be grounds for immediate disqualification, at any time, from any PNGA event. The following are some examples of unbecoming conduct or behavior:
- Repeated use of loud, abusive, and/or profane language
- Throwing and/or breaking equipment (club, ball, etc.) in anger or frustration
- Damaging host club, PNGA, and/or fellow contestant property
- Public criticism or verbal abuse of host club, officials, volunteers or staff, and/or PNGA volunteers, staff or fellow contestants
- Potential endangerment of others
- Intentionally violating stated club policy
- Violation of PNGA Dress Code and/or Footwear Policy
- Other conduct deemed unbecoming
The Committee in charge of the competition shall be the sole judge of determining Conduct Code violations.
UNOFFICIAL WITHDRAWAL
After the entry deadline and during play of the championship, players must notify the PNGA and state his need to withdraw. Entrants who unofficially withdraw (by not notifying the PNGA or without having sufficient reason) will not be granted entry into any future PNGA Championship for a minimum of two years.
PACE OF PLAY POLICY
Players are encouraged to be familiar with the PNGA’s Pace of Play Policies: Stroke Play, Match Play, which are in effect at all Championships.
LOCAL RULES AND TERMS OF THE COMPETITION
Players are encouraged to be familiar with the PNGA’s 2020 Local Rules and Terms of the Competition, which will be in effect at all championships.
PROHIBITED USE OF AUDIO EQUIPMENT
Rule 4.3 is modified in this way: During a round, a player is not allowed to use an electronic device to listen to music or other audio (such as podcasts or the like), including by using speakers, headphones or earbuds. Penalty for breach of Local Rule - see Rule 4.3.
