Cooler Temps Bring Hotter Scores at 40th TMGA Four Ball for Second Round

Second Round Results

Cloudy skies, cooler temps and periodic light rain did not slow down the top teams in any of the three divisions of the 40th Trans-Mississippi Four Ball Championship being played at The Club at Olde Stone.

In the Senior Division, first round co-leaders Don Dean & Mike Lohner, of Austin and Southlake, Texas, carded 6-under-par 66 and take at two shot lead at 10-under-par going into the final round. Greg Greenbaum & Jack Larkin, of Atlanta, Georgia, fired a 30 on the back nine to vault into second place.  The 2017 TMGA Four-Ball Champions Larry Nunez & Ron Kilby, of Austin and McAllen, Texas, sit alone in third place.

The Mid-Amateur Division saw a slew of red numbers with Colby Harwell & RW McDonald, of San Antonio, Texas, shooting a 7-under-par 65 along with a first round 68, for an 11-under-par total of 133.  Just one shot back of first round leaders are Richard Bradsby & Brian Dorman, of Denver, Colorado, who fired 4-under-par in round 2.  Trip Kuehne & Dan Crockett, of Southlake, Texas and Franklin, Tennessee, are alone in third at 8-under-par after two rounds.

The Super Seniors did not miss out on their share of the birdies with Ed Turner & Doug Hopton-Jones, Richardson and Mansfield, Texas, carding their own 5-under-par 67 and to claim a 3 shot lead over Les Devitt & Charles Yandell, of Concord, Massachusetts and Cashiers, North Carolina, the only other team under par in the Division.

The final round commences tomorrow, Thursday, September 24th at 8:00 am off both #1 & #10 tees.
