MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT OF
THE CARIBBEAN GOLF ASSOCIATION
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the premier junior golfing event in the region, the Caribbean Amateur Junior Golf Championships (CAJGC),hosted by the Trinidad and Tobago Golf Association and conducted by the Caribbean Golf Association(CGA). This year we celebrate the 30th Anniversary of these championships which have always brought together the best junior golfers in this region to compete for individual trophies as well as the prestigious Hank James Trophy for the team competition. As we reflect on the 30th Anniversary I wish to reinforce the importance of these championships to the continuous development of golf in the Caribbean as we can celebrate a number of world class successes of golfers who started their careers in the CAJGc.
It is great to be back at the St Andrews Golf Club located in Moka, Maraval which is a short distance from the capital city Port of Spain. The beautiful and challenging St Andrews golf course has been the venue for a number major championships including several senior and junior CGA championships and it will be exciting to see these talented young golfers navigate the scenic inward nine holes.
We thank Clyde Abder, President ofthe Trinidad and Tobago Golf Association, Golf Director Christopher Harries and the dedicated championship committee for their hard work to ensure that we have an outstanding Championship event. Volunteers are key to the success of this event and we are grateful for their ongoing commitment and support. We also thank St Andrews Golf Club and the Kapok Hotel for their contribution.
