Indian Creek Golf Club

The DFW Tour made its most recent stop of the 2020 season at Indian Creek Golf Club, home of the 2020 Tour Championship, for the Carrolton Classic. The sloping greens and sloppy roughs of the Creek Course challenged all, but some players rose above to gain victory and valuable Race to Nationals points.

Robert Houghton picked up his second consecutive win in the Snead flight on Saturday, shooting an 89 that was good enough by a wide margin. A birdie on 15 on his way to a back-nine 42 helped Houghton close the deal by 13 over Orval Miller.

In the Jones flight, Pete Partain was able to pick up where he left off as well, firing a 97 that earned him his second win in as many starts. After weathering a dificult closing stretch, Partain is now one win away from National Championship qualification.

Steve Killion couldn't have asked for a better start to the season. After an 86 on Saturday at ICGC, Killion has now won three consecutive events in Sr. Sarazen flight on Tour, and is qualified for the Sr. National Championship. Consistent play paid off, as his matching nines of 43 were enough to edge Bob Moreau by three shots.

The Sarazen flight was a runaway, as Randy Reed birdied the long 17th on his way to a stellar 82 and a nine shot win over David Latimer. Reed's improbable birdie was the best score on the hole in his flight by three shots!

Another model of consistency on Saturday was Myles Gallemore. A two-time winner last season, Gallemore picked up his first victory in nearly a year by shooting an 83 that featured nines of 41-42. Jalil Daneshfar continued his string of top two showings, shooting 88 to finish runner-up.

John Hickman went about it a little differently on Saturday, storming out to a big lead early before leveling off on the way in. But even an eight at the last wasn't enought to derail Hickman, as his 85 won what would end up to be a very close Hogan battle. Jeff Workman's timely birdie on the final hole earned him second place after a scorecard playoff with Clint Dacy.

Brannon Smith started his day with a birdie on Saturday, and his front-nine 37 built a lead he wouldn't relinquish in Palmer flight. A total of 82 was good by six over Sven Bock and Gregory Allen, with Bock's back-nine 39 earning him second place in the scorecard playoff.

The Nick Quast train continued to roll through the DFW Championship flight at Indian Creek. A winner of 11 of his last 12 events on Tour, Quast was dominant again on Saturday, shooting a 72 that featured three birdies and three bogeys to blow away the field.
