Yocha Dehe Fall Classic Recap
Sunday, November 24, 2019

Brooks, CA – The Golf Channel Am Tour’s Sacramento section went out to Cache Creek Casino on Sunday for a one day event at the gorgeous Yocha Dehe Golf Club. After either dealing with rainouts or extreme heat at Yocha last season, players couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day on Sunday. The weather was beautiful, the wind was low and the course conditions were spectacular. Not bad for a late November day. Here were your top finishers from an awesome day at one of our favorite stops on Tour:

Jeremy Lee, out of Sacramento, was your winner in the Championship flight on Sunday. Lee posted (+7) 79 to take the flight by one stroke over Christopher Goin (80). Sunday was Lee’s first W of the 2019-2020 season and he will enter the month of December in third place in the Championship flight standings with two events under his belt thus far.

The first of two playoffs of the day took place in the Palmer flight on Sunday, as Dan Woods, Michael Van Swol and Jeffery Lee all came in at (+3) 75 after 18 holes. Dan Woods, out of Napa, went par-par to win the playoff and record his first victory of the new season. The big 175 points on Sunday moved Woods up to third place in the Bay Area Palmer flight standings in the early goings of the season.

A great round of (+5) 77 was posted by Pacific Northwest player Darrel Gordon on Sunday in the Hogan flight. Gordon’s solid round of 38-39-77 was good for a three stroke win over Sean Harrigan and Mario La Macchia (80s), his first W in as many tries this season. 175 points to his name now has Gordon in second place in the Pac NW Hogan flight standings heading into December.

Gerald Yago, out of San Jose, was your champion in the Senior Hogan flight on Sunday. Yago (79) went out in (-1) 35 and was able to hold on and claim a three stroke victory over nearest finisher Terry Trout (82). This was the third win in a row at Yocha Dehe for Yago and the reigning Bay Area Senior Hogan flight Player of the Year now has back to back wins on the season. He now leads the standings in his flight after Sunday’s performance.

Julian Noh, out of Emeryville, posted a phenomenal round of (+4) 76 on Sunday to win the Sarazen flight by six shots over Tom Cignarella (82). Noh made three birdies and carded an even-par front nine of 36 on his way to his first victory on Tour. The 175 points earned from the convincing first W moved Noh up to second place in the Sarazen flight standings heading into the month of December.

The second playoff of the day came in the Jones flight on Sunday as Samuel Rowe and Michael Wright both came in at (+18) 90 after 18 holes. Samuel Rowe, out of Vacaville, took it on the first playoff hole by draining a 30-foot par putt for his first victory on Tour. Rowe now leads the Jones flight standings with two events under his belt in the early part of the season.

The largest margin of victory took place in the Snead flight on Sunday, as Woodland’s Loran Polete posted (+10) 82 to win the flight by eight shots over runner-up finisher Kathie Holtzapple (90). Polete won Player of the Year in the Senior Snead flight last season without recording a victory, so he’s been knocking on the door for quite some time now and finally broke through with a dominant win on Sunday. He’ll enter the month of December in second place in the Senior Snead flight standings.
