Date: May 6-7, 2017
Eligibility: Male amateur golfers who have a membership at a VGA member club and/or an active, valid GHIN handicap.
Format: 36 Hole 4 Ball (better ball of the partners) - 2 man teams.
Flights: Teams will be flighted by handicap. There will be one Championship Flight (50 team max), multiple Regular Flights, Senior Flights (age 55+) and Super Senior Flights (age 65+). The number of flights will be determined by the number of entries received. The Championship Flight will be composed of either 32 or 50 teams with the lowest combined handicaps that request the Championship Flight. If less than 50 teams request to play in the Championship Flight, the 32 teams with the lowest combined handicap will be placed in the Championship Flight. The next 18 teams with the lowest combined handicap will be placed in the 1st Regular Flight. If more than 50 teams request to play in the Championship Flight, the 50 teams with the lowest combined handicaps will be placed in the Championship Flight and the rest will be placed in one of the regular flights.
Please Note: Teams electing to play in the Super Senior Division will play from a forward set of senior tees.
Venues: Each team will play one course in the North one of the days and one course in the South on the other day.
North: Rutland CC, Proctor-Pittsford CC, Neshobe GC
South: Manchester CC, The Golf Club at Equinox, Dorset Field Club
Entry Fee: $270.00 per team.
Registration: On-line registration opens February 1, 2017. You will be asked during the registration process which Flight/Division that you wish to play in. Please note that for the Senior Flight both players must be 55 or older as of May 6, 2017 and for the Super Senior Flight both players must be 65 or older as of May 6, 2017.
Your DATE OF BIRTH MUST be in your profile in order to sign up for one of the Senior/Super Senior flights.
If you do not wish to take advantage of on-line registration, please call the VGA Office to process your registration. Please note - you will be subject to an additional fee of $10.00 per team if you wish to have the office process your registration.
Cart Policy: Cart policy will vary from course to course. All this information will be emailed to participants prior to the tournament as well as posted on our website.
Practice Rounds: Available the week prior to the tournament. Vouchers for the practice rounds will be mailed to the "captains" of each team (the captain is the player who registered the team).
Entry Deadline: Entries must be received by April 21, 2017. If a team that is not on the waiting list wishes to enter the tournament after the entry deadline, and if there is an available spot for that team, there will be an additional charge of $20.00 added to the entry fee.
Tee Times/Pairings: will be posted on this website as soon as practicable after the close of entries.
Dress Code: Appropriate golf attire - collared shirts - no denim. If in doubt, please call the pro shop.
Cancellations: Cancellations can be made on line prior to the close of entries and will be refunded in full less a 3% credit card processing fee. After the close of entries and prior to the start of the tournament, entry fees will be refunded less a $50.00 administrative fee and you must contact the VGA office to cancel. No refunds will be given after the start of the tournament.
Conditions/Schedules: The VGA reserves the right to alter any of the conditions and schedules herein. The decision of the VGA in any matter shall be final.
