Illinois State Junior Girls’ Championship – Wednesday, July 31, 2019

 

The 2019 Illinois State Junior Girls’ Champion is Shannyn Vogler of Sherrard with a two-day total of 143 (70-73). Shannyn will be a sophomore at Rivermont Collegiate Runner-up was Stephanie Su of South Barrington with a total of 144, and the low-round of the championship with a score of 69 on Wednesday.

 

A field of 71 young ladies from all over the state hit the links on this morning for the 40th Illinois State Junior Girls' Championship at Aldeen Golf Club in Rockford, IL.

 

­­­Shannyn Vogler from Sherrard was the first day leader with a 2-under par round of 70.   Other players close behind were Sarah Arnold of St. Charles with a 72 and 2 players at 74; Grace Curran of New Lenox and Ella Greenberg.

 

The championship promotes sportsmanship and camaraderie in addition to fine competition.
