Terms of the Competition
ELIGIBILITY
This championship is open to male amateur golfers who meet the following requirements:

Membership: Players must hold an active USGA/GHIN Handicap Index at a 2025 SDGA Member Club or be a member of the NYSGA eClub of Central NY (Territory defined as residing in the following counties: Onondaga, Cortland, Cayuga, Madison, Oswego, Oneida, Seneca, Tompkins, and Wayne County east of Route 14).

Age: Players must be at least 14 years old as of July 31, 2025.

USGA Handicap Index: Players must have an active USGA Handicap Index, issued by their member club, of 8.4 or less.
FIELD SIZE AND WAITLIST
The field is limited to the first 81 players to apply. After the field limit is reached, players will be placed on a wait list in order by their time of registration.
ENTRIES, DEADLINE, AND REFUND POLICY

Entries: An entry must be submitted online with payment prior to the deadline. Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.

Entry Fee: $65 and an additional $25 fee to all players that qualify for match play. This includes all green fees, lunch on Thursday, prizes, and awards.

Deadline: Entries must be received prior to the deadline (12PM EST on Friday, July 25, 2025). Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.

Refund Policy:

Withdrawal PRIOR TO entry deadline: Entry fee less $20

Withdrawal AFTER entry deadline: Entry fee less $50

Withdrawal WITHIN 2 DAYS of the competition: No Refund

FORMAT
This is a match play competition, with an 18-hole stroke play qualifying round to determine the top-31 players, who will advance with the 2024 champion. The USGA's method of matching scorecards will be used to determine the last qualifying spot(s), and the medalist.
RULES
All play will be governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. Players will be provided a "Notice to Players" rules sheet containing local rules and conditions. The SDGA will have volunteer Rules Officials on the course to provide rulings and answer questions.

Sunday, August 3 // Semifinal Matches, 7:20am // Final Match, 12:30pm
TEE TIME REQUESTS
The SDGA will make every effort to accommodate tee time requests, which must be submitted no later than 12PM on Saturday, July 26th (click here).
Pairing requests will not be accepted.
RANKINGS
The 2025 SDGA District Match Play Championship is a World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) ranked event.
TEAM NEW YORK
This is a 2026 Team New York Counting Event
PLAYER LUNCH ON THURSDAY (QUALIFYING ROUND)
A complimentary lunch will be provided to all players on Thursday, July 31.
SNACK BAR
The restaurant/bar will be open for cash purchase only.
GOLF CARTS
The golf cart rental fee is $25 per player, payable in the pro shop. The NYSGA's one-seat policy will be in effect.
RANGE
Available for purchase in pro shop.
AWARDS
Trophies will be awarded to the medalist, winner and finalist. Pro shop credit will be awarded to the Top 5 for the qualifier and Top 16 in Match Play.
