TERMS OF THE COMPETITION


 

ELIGIBILITY

This championship is open to teams consisting of two male amateur golfers who meet the following requirements:

  • Membership: Players must hold an active USGA/GHIN Handicap Index at a 2025 SDGA Member Club or be a member of the NYSGA eClub of Central NY (Territory defined as residing in the following counties: Onondaga, Cortland, Cayuga, Madison, Oswego, Oneida, Seneca, Tompkins, and Wayne County east of Route 14 ).

  • Age: Players must be at least 14 years of age as of May 3, 2025.

  • USGA Handicap Index: Players must have an active USGA Handicap Index of 8.4 or less.

 

FIELD SIZE AND WAIT LIST

The field is limited to the first 40 teams to apply. After the field limit is reached, teams will be placed on a wait list in order by their time of registration. 

 

ENTRIES, DEADLINE, AND REFUND POLICY

  • Entries: An entry must be submitted online with payment prior to the deadline. Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.

  • Entry Fee: $340 per team. This includes all green fees, carts, lunch on Saturday, prizes and awards.

  • Deadline: Entries must be received prior to the deadline (12PM EST on Monday, April 28, 2025). Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.

  • Refund Policy:

    • Withdrawal PRIOR TO entry deadline: Entry fee less $20

    • Withdrawal AFTER entry deadline: Entry fee less $50

    • Withdrawal WITHIN 2 DAYS of the competition: No Refund

  • Substitution: All transfers and substitutions must be made by contacting Jack Corcoran (jcorcoran@nysga.org). A player may substitute after the entry deadline but their team will be moved to the end of the waitlist. A substitute can only be a player NOT entered in the Championship upon the close of entries.

 

FORMAT

The format is 36 holes of best-ball (referred to as four-ball under the Rules of Golf). Play will be from the tees set to approximately 6,700 yards at both courses.

 

RULES

All play will be governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. Players will be provided a "Notice to Players" containing local rules and conditions. The SDGA will provide access to a certified USGA Rules official to provide rulings and answer questions.

 

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

  • Saturday May 3 - Radisson Greens // Round 1 // Tee times: 10:00am - 1:00pm
  • Sunday, May 4 - Shenendoah // Round 2 // Tee times: 11:00am - 2:00pm

 

PAIRINGS

The first round pairings will be available on Tuesday, April 29th and will be emailed to all players.

 

TEE TIME REQUESTS
The SDGA will make every effort to accommodate tee time requests, which must be submitted no later than 12PM on Monday, April 28th (
click here). Pairing requests will not be accepted.

 

LUNCH ON SUNDAY

A complimentary lunch will be served at the halfway house either at the turn or after the round following play on Sunday, May 4th. 

 

FOOD & BEVERAGE

The club's snack bar will be open - accepting cash or credit - at both Radisson Greens and Shenendoah.

 

GOLF CARTS

Golf carts are included in the entry fee, players are required to ride.

 

RANGE

  • Radisson Greens: Pay for balls in pro shop
  • Shenendoah: Range balls included

 

AWARDS

Trophies will be awarded to the winning team. 

Based on a full field, the following prizes will be awarded:

  • Round 1: Top five teams earn prize cards.
  • Round 2: Top five teams earn prize cards.
  • Overall: Top eight teams earn prize cards
