MGA Tournament Posting Policy

February 2014 – Amended September 2015

Purpose:  The purpose of this policy is to identify the tournaments that should and/or could be posted as Tournament (T) rounds.  The goal is to establish 6 postable T rounds annually.  Members, active in the MGA play in approximately 75% of the tournaments.  This would provide members the opportunity to post 4 tournament (T) rounds annually.  The tournaments that are candidates to be posted a “T” rounds are as follows:

  • MGA Classics:
    • President’s Cup Doubles
    • President’s Cup Individual
    • Club Championship
    • Senior Club Championship
  • MGA Majors:
    • Spring Classic – both rounds
    • Windmill Invitational – best ball round
    • Fall Stampede – best ball round
  • MGA Tour:
    • Two Timer
    • Eclectic – first round only
    • Beat Your Handicap

At the start of each season the chairmen from the Majors, Classics, and Tour will meet to select the tournaments that will be posted as “T”.  The designation will be noted on the tournament description.

To avoid confusion, all rounds (Tournament and Regular) in MGA events will be posted by the Pro Shop.  The Pro Shop will be tipped $800 annually for posting the scores.  The Treasurer will determine the charge to each event for posting.
