REGISTRATION WILL RE-OPEN FOR THE MASSACHUSETTS AMATEUR AT 1:00PM ET.
ELIGIBILITY
Any amateur golfers who have an active Mass Golf Membership. Handicap Index® not exceeding 3.6 (at the time of registration). Have played and posted 5 rounds at any Mass Golf member club/course within 12 months of the entry close date.
ENTRIES: FEE, CLOSING DATE, REFUNDS
All players – including those who are exempt, must submit and complete payment of an online registration through the Mass Golf event registrations system by 5:00pm EDT on the published entry deadline. CLICK HERE to view all applicable withdrawal and refund polices.

Entries Close: Wednesday, May 7, 2025
SCHEDULE
Competition will be in two stages:
- Qualifying – 18 holes stroke play for all except exempt players
- Championship – (+/-) 144 players, including exempt players. 36 holes stroke play to determine 32 players for match play
- Monday, July 7 – Round 1, 18 holes
- Tuesday, July 8 – Round 2, 18 holes
The low 32 scorers will advance to match play on July 9. A tie for the final qualifying place(s) will be determined by a hole-by-hole playoff.
Match Play - A draw baed on qualifying scores will be used. Ties in stroke play will be decided by the order in which scores are returned, except that places of those participating in a play-off will be determined by performance in the play-off and if necessary, a blind draw
- Round of 32 (AM) - July 9
- Round of 16 (PM) - July 9
- Quarterfinals (AM) - July 10
- Semifinals (PM) - July 10
- Finals (AM/PM) - July 11 (36 Holes)
In the event of a tied match, (a) the winner shall be decided immediately by a hole-by-hole play-off, and (b) the stipulated round is deemed to extend to as many holes as are required for a match to be won.
TROPHIES & PRIZES
The winner will receive the Massachusetts Cup. The medalist(s) during the stroke play portion will be awarded the Harry B. McCracken, Jr. Medal. The 32 match play qualifiers will receive merchandise certificates that are only redeemable at the host site.
CADDIES/GOLF CARTS
Qualifying – The use of golf carts is permitted at the player’s expense and based on any host club policies. Players may also use caddies and push/pull carts (including electric) at the host club’s discretion.
Championship Proper - The use of golf carts is permitted, and fees are included in the championship entry fee. Players may also use caddies and push/pull carts (including electric) at the host club’s discretion.
FOOD & BEVERAGE
A Mass Golf sponsored lunch will be available for all championship competitors on July 7 and throughout match play. Additional food & beverage details and availability for the championship proper and qualifying rounds will be outlined on the player information sheet(s).
LOCAL RULES; TERMS OF THE COMPETITION; SCHEDULES
The Mass Golf Board of Directors/on-site Rules Committee reserves the right to alter any of the Local Rules, Terms of the Competition, provisions and/or schedules. The decision of the Board of Directors/on-site Rules Committee in any matter will be final.

STARTING TIMES & PLAYER INFORMATION
Qualifying information, including tee times, pairings and player information will be emailed to all competitors and posted to the Amateur Championship website shortly after entries close. Championship information will be shared shortly after the final scheduled qualifying round.

Based on availability, players may request a qualifying location transfer by contacting championships@massgolf.org.
QUALIFYING PLACES & TIES
The number of qualifying places per site will be determined after entries close and will be published on the specific player information sheet for each qualifying site. The number of qualifying spots is subject to change based on any withdrawals prior to the competition and/or alterations in the schedule.
PRACTICE ROUNDS
Practice round opportunities/access may be available at the discretions of the host club(s). Details regarding practice rounds will be shared with competitors during the registration process and/or at the close of entries. Competitors are asked to refrain from contacting host club(s) regarding practice rounds until they receive official details from Mass Golf.
