2025 Legend Honoree: Ron Brewer
Named Player of the Decade for the 1990’s, Ron Brewer was a force to be reckoned with in Kansas and throughout the country. An 18-time champion in state tournaments, Brewer excelled in open, as well as senior events throughout the period of the late ‘80s and well into the 2010s.
“Brew” as he is universally known, qualified for twelve USGA Championships, making it to match play in the US Amateur, the US Mid-Amateur, and US Senior Amateur. He not only qualified for the US Senior Open in 1997, but he made the cut and finished as the 3rd-low amateur that year.
But, if you are searching for superlatives, look no further than this: over the course of some 30 years playing at Wolf Creek Golf Club, his home course, he has eagled every hole. Think about that for a minute. Aced each of the par 3s at least once, holed-out on all the par 5s, and, incredibly made 2 on every par 4! Enough said.
