Vermont Mid-Amateur Championship

August 14-17, 2025

 

 

 The Vermont Mid-Amateur Championship is open to any Vermont male amateur 25 years and older as of August 14, 2025.

 

Eligibility:  

  • Vermont Resident - Any male amateur golfer, as of the day of the tournament, who is a legal resident of Vermont and is a member in good standing, of a member club of the Vermont Golf Association.

OR

  • Non-Vermont Resident - Any male amateur golfer, as of the first day of the tournament, who is not a legal resident of the State of Vermont, but has been a member in good standing of any Vermont Golf Association member club for the past three years, has an active GHIN handicap issued by a Vermont Golf Association member club and has posted a minimum of 10 rounds of golf in the last 12 months outside of the major championships at any VGA member club.
     

*All participating players are required to have a GHIN Handicap with an up-to-date

Handicap Index at a Vermont member club in order to be deemed eligible to compete in VGA sponsored events.


Format: Individual 18 holes stroke play the first day. Successful qualifiers advance to the Round of 32 Matches starting Friday culminating in final match on Sunday.

 

August 14th (Thursday) - 

  • 18 Stroke Play Qualifier, low 32 scores advance to match play bracket (ties will be resolved in playoff)

 

August 15th (Friday) - 

  • Round of 32 matches (morning)
  • Lunch break for players 
  • Round of 16 matches (afternoon)

 

August 16th (Saturday) - 

  • Round of 8 matches (morning)
  • Lunch break for players
  • Round of 4 matches (afternoon)

 

August 17th (Sunday) - 

  • Championship match (morning)
  • Award Presentation


Entry Fee: $150.00 per player.

Registration: On-line registration opens March 1, 2025. Click the link at the top of the page to begin registration. As this is an age-specific event, your date of birth must be in your profile in order to register. 

Tee Times: Information on tee times and pairings will be posted on this portal as soon as practicable after the close of entries.

Practice Rounds: All players will be entitled to two practice rounds for the price of the cart fee each time. Make sure to get in contact with the host club to set up practice rounds. Information on practice rounds and hotel accommodations will be emailed to all participants and posted on our website - www.vtga.org.

Entry Deadline: Entries must be received by August 7, 2025 at 11:59pm. If a player who is not on the waiting list wishes to enter the tournament after the entry deadline, and if there is an available spot for that player, there will be an additional charge of  $25.00.

Dress Code: Appropriate golf attire - collared shirts - no denim. If in doubt, please call the pro shop.

Cancellations: Cancellations can be made on line prior to the start of the tournament. Cancellations made prior to the close of entries will be refunded less a 3% credit card processing fee.  Cancellations made between the close of entries and the start of the Championship will be refunded less a $50.00 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given after the start of the tournament.

Conditions/Schedules: The VGA reserves the right to alter any of the conditions and schedules herein. The decision of the VGA in any matter shall be final.
