ELIGIBILITY: Open to ALL male golfers who reside in Iowa 18 years of age or younger on June 9, 2025 and who have not yet entered college. Players from Illinois are eligible to play provided they are an active member of the Iowa PGA Junior Tour.
FIELD:
The 2025 Iowa Junior Amateur will be held concurrently with the 2025 Iowa Girls’ Junior Amateur. These are two distinctly separate championships with boys and girls NOT paired together. There is one age divisions in each championship: 18 & under. However, to accommodate entries to both championships the following field sizes (both boys and girls) will be administered:
104 total entries between both divisions
Boys - 64
Girls - 40
In both divisions waiting lists will be established so that spots can be filled by the other gender, should one not reach their designated limit.
Preferred entry will be made available from March 3rd through March 31st to individuals who meet the criteria outlined below. Following that period, entries will open to the public on April 1st.

3. Top 15 & Ties in 2024 IGA Junior Player of the Year Standings
4. 2024 IHSAA Individual Champions (Class 1A-4A)
5. Top 15 & Ties in 2024 Iowa Junior Amateur
6. 2024-2025 USGA Alternate or Qualifier
7. Made Cut at 2024 Iowa Amateur
8. 2024 Junior PGA Championship Participant
9. Top 15 & Ties in 2024 Junior PGA 16-18 Player of the Year Standings
10. Top 5 & Ties in 2024 Junior PGA 14-15 Player of the Year Standings
WAITLIST POLICY: IGA Championship field sizes will be set to 5 players less than a full field size (ex: Iowa Junior Amateur (Boys) field of 64 players will be set to 59 players). At entry close, the IGA will allocate the five remaining spots as exemptions to qualified players deserving of being in the final field, no matter their position on the waitlist. Generally, this will mean players that have historically supported this event or have a history of high finishes at IGA Championships. For players who need to withdraw before the entry deadline but after a waitlist has been created, their spot will be given in the order of first come first serve from the waitlist. The waitlist will be published on the event portal website as soon as it is created.
PRACTICE PRIVILEGES:
At the championship site practice rounds are at the discretion of the host course in terms of starting times and fees. Players are responsible for scheduling their own tee times with the host club. Practice privileges are limited to entrants only.
PAIRINGS, TEE TIMES:
Entry confirmation & pairings will be emailed from the IGA office after the entry deadline. Pairing information will not be sent via standard mail to those who do not provide an email address. Pairings will be made available on the IGA website, www.iowagolf.org.
ENTRIES — FORM, FEE, CLOSING DATE:
Entrants are solely responsible for securing and returning entry forms and fees by the due date. Entries must reach the IGA office by 11:59 P.M., June 10 and must be accompanied by the appropriate fee. You may enter online using a credit card at www. iowagolf.org up to the deadline or until a field limit is met, whichever comes first. Late, unsigned or incomplete applications are not acceptable and will be returned.
FORMAT, SCHEDULE OF PLAY:
Monday, June 9 - 18 holes stroke play (Boys/Girls)
Tuesday, June 10 - 18 holes stroke play (Boys/Girls)
Wednesday, June 11 - 18 holes stroke play (Boys/Girls)
CONDITIONS, SCHEDULES:
The IGA reserves the right to alter any of the conditions and schedules herein as needed. This may include but is not limited to, suspending play to a following day, or canceling current or future rounds. The decision of the Rules and Competitions Committee in any matter shall be final. Under any circumstances, all possible attempts will be made to complete the event in the scheduled number of rounds.
GOLF BALLS; DRIVER HEADS
Only brands of golf balls on the most current USGA List of Conforming Golf Balls and driver heads on the most current USGA List of Conforming Driver Heads may be used. Updated lists may be found on the USGA website at www.usga.org or by contacting the USGA Equipment Standards Department at (908) 234-2300. The so-called “One-Ball Rule,” Model Local Rule G-5 will NOT be in effect.
WITHDRAWALS AND REFUNDS:
Entry fees will be refunded if the IGA office is notified on or before May 27th, 2025. After May 27th, fees will be refunded only in event of injury or illness. There will be a $20 service charge on all refunds.
PERSONAL APPEARANCE:
Proper golf attire is mandatory; the committee reserves the right to determine whether this requirement is met. Shorts are permitted, provided they are Bermuda length or longer. T-shirts, tank tops, sweatpants, and blue jeans are NOT permitted.
PACE OF PLAY: In accordance with Rule 5.6b(3) the IGA has adopted pace of play guidelines that include the maximum period of time allotted to complete a stipulated round, number of holes and/or strokes. These guidelines and the resulting penalties will be made available to every competitor in advance of the championship.
NO CARTS: All players are required to walk
RULES OF GOLF:
Play will be governed by the Rules of Golf. Local rules on scorecards do not apply. Decisions concerning the rules will be settled by the Rules Committee assigned by the IGA and those decisions will be final.

Players will be neat in appearance with respect to normal personal grooming and clothing at any IGA sponsored championship. Appropriate golf attire is required (e.g. no short shorts, blue jeans or blue jean shorts, midriff tops, tank tops, halter tops, sports bras, gym shorts, leotards, undershirts). Soft spikes are required for all IGA championships.
