FORMAT/QUALIFYING PLACES

18 holes of individual stroke play for 7 spots and 2 alternate spots to advance to final qualifying for the 2025 U.S. Open Championship to be played June 12-15 at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, PA. 

PRACTICE ROUND

One practice round per player. Practice rounds will be available on the designated times below two weeks prior to the competition. Please call Doublegate Country Club to reserve your practice round starting time. Practice round fees are $50 plus tax and must be paid regardless of whether or not the player chooses to walk or ride. Credit cards will be the accepted method of payment in the golf shop.

  • Tuesday – Friday, anytime based on availability
  • Saturday – Sunday, after 2 p.m. based on availability
  • Practice rounds will be available after 12:30 on Sunday, April 27. 

 

YARDAGES & TEES

The USGA tee markers will be used.  Yardages are approximate and may be adjusted due to inclement weather or other factors that may affect the playing conditions during the competition. Practice yardages can be found under the Player Information tab.

GOLF SHOP & DRIVING RANGE

The golf shop and driving range will open at 7:00 a.m. on the day of competition.

STARTING TIMES

Starting times for tournament play will be assigned by the USGA/GSGA and posted at the club the day before the competition starts. You may visit www.gsga.org for complete pairing information and starting times beginning on April 10.

REGISTRATION

No formal registration will be held on site. Players should arrive to their assigned starting tee ten minutes before their starting time to allow for the starter to go over instructions and rules of play. Player withdraws must be called in to the GSGA office at (678) 324-5969 or e-mailed to jfages@gsga.org.

CARTS

Practice round fees are $50 plus tax. Credit cards and cash will be accepted. During the qualifying round, a caddie may transport a player’s bag on a cart for a fee of $30 plus tax.  Spectator carts are strictly prohibited at all USGA qualifying rounds.

RULES OF PLAY/PACE OF PLAY/CART POLICY

PREFERED LIES

Per the USGA, for all USGA Championships and qualifying rounds, the following policy is in effect: A Local Rule authorizing “Preferred Lies” or “Winter Rules” is NEVER permitted.

FOOD SERVICE

Food and beverage items will be available throughout the day in the Grill. Credit cards will be accepted for F&B purchases.

PERSONAL APPEARANCE

In Local and Final Qualifying stages and the Championship proper, players must be neat in appearance with respect to clothing and personal grooming. The Committee in charge decides whether this requirement has been met, and has the authority to withdraw the entry of a player who does not comply. The wearing of short pants is prohibited in the Championship proper, but is permissible in Local and Final Qualifying provided the host club does not have a dress code prohibiting such.
