2024 UJ Fall Classic

NOTICE TO COMPETITORS

September 15-16

Jamestown Country Club

GGID: 24UJFALL

Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf.

Format.  36-holes of stroke play (playoff to determine individual champions only).

Tees.  Women - Gold   Men – Blue

Pins:      Yellow (#5) -Sunday Blue (#6) Monday

Leaves Rule: Free drop in agreed upon location where your ball is lost due to leaves. Your group must agree that ball was in fact in play but cannot be found due to leaves. All final rulings will be made by the rules committee.

Ground Under Repair (GUR).  Marked with white paint, not with ropes and stakes. The bunker on hole 9 has been filled in and trees planted. This area is considered GUR, we have a drop-zone behind it but can follow the GUR rule, no closer to the hole.

Out of Bounds.  Defined by white stakes, white lines, and/or perimeter fences. (Rule 27) The driving range on hole 1 is NOT out of bounds. The driving range IS out of bounds on hole 9 through the green. Please encourage your team to hit a provisional if they think they might be OB for pace-of-place purposes.

Water and Lateral Water Hazards. Yellow stakes or lines define water hazards. Red stakes or lines define lateral water hazards. When both stakes and lines are used, stakes identify and lines define the hazard.

  • Hole 9: Drop zone right off the red tee box for those who hit it into the right hazard and don’t think they crossed in further up.
  • NO OTHER DROPPING ZONES ON THE COURSE ARE IN PLAY FOR THE TOURNAMENT (you might see some old drop zones from high school tournament).

Staked Trees – a few small, new trees have been planted throughout the golf course. A free drop is allowed no closer to the hole if your swing or ball may hit one of these. Confirm with group before moving/dropping.

Embedded Ball. In effect through the green.

Permanently Elevated Power Lines. (Hole 3) If a ball strikes a line or cable, the stroke shall be cancelled and the ball MUST be replayed without penalty (Rule 20-5). If the ball is not immediately recoverable, a ball may be substituted.

Distance Measuring Devices.  A player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. Yardage information may be shared with other players.

Wrong Score for Hole in Stroke Play.  If a competitor returns a score for any hole lower than actually taken due to failure to include a penalty stroke that the player did not know he had incurred, the player is not disqualified. The penalty for the applicable Rule is applied, but there is no additional penalty.

Accidental Movement of a Ball on a Putting Green.  When a player’s ball lies on the putting green, there is no penalty if the ball or ball- marker is accidentally moved by the player, his partner, his opponent, or any of their caddies or equipment.

Rules Committee will make final judgments: Shawn Taft, Austin Rene, Dustin Jensen and Jared Lentz.
