FIELD SIZE

60 teams.  At the close of entries, the field will be determined by lottery.  Lottery details and rules are posted on a separate page under the PLAYER INFORMATION section. 

ELIGIBILITY

Open to two-person teams of one male and one female.  Both team members must be active members of the GSGA.

FORMAT

36 holes of gross and net stroke play

  • Round 1: Modified Alternate Shot (Plantation). Handicap allowances for each team will be calculated using the USGA recommended allowances for this format of 60% of the low handicap player and 40% of the high handicap player.
  • Round 2: Four-Ball, stroke play (Seaside) Handicap allowances for each team will be calculated using the USGA recommended allowances for this format which is 85% of each player's handicap index.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Rooms at The Inn at Sea Island are part of your entry fee.  Your entry fee includes one or two rooms depending on the registration payment option selected, breakfast each morning, complimentary parking, wifi, on-site heated pool, on-site workout room, courtesy BMW vehicle as available, shuttle transportation to the golf course, and access to other Sea Island properties such as The Cloister and the Sea Island Golf Performance Center.  If wishing to upgrade to The Lodge, please contact Ainsley Cowart, Manager of Competitions & Member Programming at acowart@gsga.org or via phone at (678) 324-5973 by December 13th.  Additional fees for the upgrade will be due at the time of check-out at the event. To upgrade to the Lodge, an additional $475 ++ will be charged for the 2-night stay (double occupancy). 

 

Local teams within driving distance of Sea Island Golf Club not requiring accommodations please select the local registration option. 

PRACTICE ROUND

One practice round per player is INCLUDED in the entry fee. Practice rounds will be available on the designated times below two weeks prior to the competition. Please call 912-638-5118 to reserve your practice round starting time after you have received your acceptance confirmation on December 4th.  

 

  • Additional practice rounds before the competition or post competition rounds are available at the following rates: $ - Seaside, $ - Plantation.  Please contact the golf shop to make arrangements.
  • Walking Caddies are to be booked through the club (912-638-5118) and are the following rate: $50.00 per bag. 
  • Forecaddies are to be booked through the club (912-638-5118) and are the following rate: $40.00 per bag.

A combination of tee markers and yardages will be utilized for the championship. A practice yardage sheet will be available after the close of entries on the event portal page. Practice yardage sheets will also be available at the club. Yardages are approximate and may be adjusted due to inclement weather or other factors that may affect the playing conditions during the competition.

 

 

GOLF SHOP & DRIVING RANGE

The golf shop and driving range will open at 7:30 a.m. each day of competition.

STARTING TIMES

Starting times for tournament play will be assigned by the GSGA and posted at the club the day before the competition starts. You may visit www.gsga.org for complete pairing information and starting times beginning on January 26. 

REGISTRATION

No formal registration will be held on site. Player withdraws must be called or e-mailed to the GSGA office so that an alternate may be contacted. By registering for this competition, you agree to all of GSGA's policies and procedures that can be accessed using the following link: GSGA Policies & Procedures

CARTS

Practice and tournament round cart and range fees are included in the entry fee.

RULES OF PLAY/PACE OF PLAY/CART POLICY

FOOD SERVICE

Food service will be available in the clubhouse. Credit cards ONLY will be accepted.

PRIZES

Prizes will be awarded to the overall winner and the top 3 finishers in each flight.

REFUND POLICY

 

A $60 service charge will be retained by GSGA on all refunds prior to the closing of entries of the Mixed Team Championship. The refund procedures after entries close is stated below. Withdraws after the close of entries on December 2 must be made by calling the GSGA Rules and Competitions Department at (770)-955-4272 or (800)-949-4742 or via email.  

  1. Local Team – Local teams are defined as teams with a player/players travelling from less than 100 miles.  If a local team withdraws after the close of entries due to injury, a representative of that team must provide medical documentation. A $60 service charge will be retained by GSGA and the remainder will be refunded. 

  1. Single/Double Occupancy - If a team withdraws after the close of entries due to injury, a representative of that team must provide medical documentation. If GSGA is not able to replace the spot with a team from the waiting list, the hotel room fee ($460 double / $920 single) will be retained by the GSGA, and the remainder will be refunded. 

  1. If a single or double occupancy team withdraws and there is a team on the waiting list with the same entry structure, the withdrawing team will be refunded their entry fee minus the $60 service charge. If the only teams available on the waiting list are local teams, the withdrawing team will be refunded the entry fee minus the hotel room fees as stated above in #2.
