First and foremost, we would like to highlight that we have introduced an enhanced PGA of Ontario Playing Ability Test Policy. This policy provides guidelines pertaining to the applicant's pace of play and playing ability. This policy has been introduced by the PGA of Ontario staff and Tournament Committee in response to applicant feedback and observation of applicant experience. The policy is designed to maintain the integrity of our Playing Ability Tests and association and ensure participants are adequately prepared for the test. The intent is to elevate the overall experience and foster a professional and equitable environment at all PGA of Ontario PAT’s. DRIVING RANGE

The driving range will be open and balls are available on the range.

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS

Practice rounds will be available at $55 plus HST (Walking), and a 9-hole cart rate which is $18 plus HST. Please contact the pro shop at 905-888-1219

 

CARTS AND ON-COURSE EQUIPMENT

  • Carts are not included. Players must adhere to the host facility cart rules.
  • The cost is $18 plus tax (twilight rate)
  • A two-cart per-group rule is in effect.

Men < 49 years old – course rating plus 9
Men > 50 years old – course rating plus 11

 

Men <49 – Rating 70.3 6373 Yards - Target Score = 79
Men >50 – Rating 70.3, 6373 Yards - Target Score = 81

 

Applicants (Women) – Red Tees (North Course)

Women < 49 years old – course rating plus 13
Women > 50 years old – course rating plus 15

 

Women <49 – Rating 70.8, 5413 Yards - Target Score = 84
Women >50 – Rating 70.8, 5413 Yards - Target Score = 86

 

CHECK-IN WITH TOURNAMENT CONVENOR

Players are asked to check in at the 1st tee no less than 5 minutes before their tee time.

DRESS CODE

Competitors must adhere to the PGA of Ontario Dress Code which is also available in the competitor registration package.

 

TIME OF STARTING
All players in a group must be present and READY TO PLAY at the time laid down by the Committee. The order of play is not relevant. READY TO PLAY is defined as being on or near the player's first tee accompanied with the necessary equipment needed to put a ball in play. Notification by a PGA of Ontario Rules Official will be given to late starters on the first tee or as soon as practicable.

 

THE USE OF CONTRABAND SUBSTANCES AND THE CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL DURING COMPETITION

The use of contraband substances and the consumption of alcohol during the course of play of a PGA of Ontario Playing Ability Test and/or Tournament event is strictly prohibited.  Any player found in breach of this rule will be deemed to have conducted themselves in a manner unbecoming of a Member of our Association and will face a penalty set forth by the Tournament Committee

 

MEASURING DEVICES

A player may obtain distance information by using a device that:  MEASURES DISTANCE ONLY
However, if a distance measuring device has additional functionality that can gauge or measure other conditions that might affect a player’s play (e.g. elevation change, wind speed, etc.), the use of any such additional function would be a breach of Rule 4.3a.

 

ELECTRONIC AUDIO OR VIDEO DEVICES

During a round, a player must not listen to or watch content of any nature on a personal audio or video device. Rule 4.3
Penalty for Breach of Rule 4.3

  • Penalty for first breach from single act or related acts: Two Strokes
  • Penalty for second breach unrelated to first breach: Disqualification

 

SPECIFICATIONS OF CLUBS AND THE BALL

  1. List of Conforming Driver Heads: Model Local Rule G-1 is in effect.  Penalty for making a stroke with a club in breach of this Local Rule: Disqualification.
     
  2. Groove and Punch Mark Specifications: Model Local Rule G-2 is in effect. Penalty for making a stroke with a club in breach of this Local Rule: Disqualification.
     
  3. List of Conforming Golf Balls: Model Local Rule G-3 is in effect. Penalty for making a stroke with a ball in breach of this Local Rule: Disqualification.
     
  4. Replacing Club that is Broken or Significantly Damaged – Model Local Rule G-9 is in effect. Penalty for Breach of Local Rule – See Rule 4.1b.
