ENTRY DEADLINE

Entry applications, along with the appropriate fee, must be completed or received by December 20th, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.

 REFUND POLICY

Cancellations made before entry deadline are entitled to a full refund minus a $60 service charge. Cancellations made between December 21st and January 15th will be subject to 50% refund of entry fee. No refund for any reason will be issued after January 15th.

HANDICAPS

Team handicaps will be determined by 85% of each player’s handicap for the team game. Handicap Indexes on Tuesday, January 28th will be used for all three rounds. Players are expected to have an active GHIN number.

FLIGHTS

The field will be divided into multiple flights by team handicap index and will be finalized on Tuesday, January 28th after handicaps have been updated and frozen.

SCHEDULE

  • Friday, January 31 (Firecliff Course) - Tee Times from 8:20 a.m. – 12:20 p.m.
  • Saturday, February 1 (Mountain View Course) - Tee times from 8:05 a.m. – 12:05 p.m.
  • Sunday, February 2 (Firecliff Course) - 8:00 a.m. Shotgun

COURSE YARDAGE

The standard tees for Men will be the White Tees and for Women the Green Tees. Players will have the option to play other tees if they wish. Players who choose a shorter yardage than the standard tees will be eligible for net prizes only. Players who play beyond the standard yardage will still be eligible for gross prizes. Players who play a different tee must inform WA Golf/IGA Staff member of the tees they are playing when starting their round.  

White Tees:                Mt. View: 6,128 yards, par-72           Firecliff: 6,173 yards, par-72

Green Tees:                Mt. View: 5,040 yards, par 72            Firecliff: 5,079 yards, par 72

 

STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS

Starting times will be released by Thursday, January 9th. Players may request who they play with during registration. Starting Times will be posted on the WA Golf website (WAgolf.org), on the event portal and will be emailed to each player. 

ONSITE REGISTRATION

All contestants must register in person with WA Golf/IGA staff at Desert Willow prior to starting play. Registration will be located outside by the cart staging area FRIDAY, JANUARY, 31ST: 7:00 a.m. – 11:40 a.m.

LIVE SCORING

Official scores for each round must be submitted virtually via the Golf Genius app. Please download the Golf Genius app to your phone via the QR codes below if you have not already. WA Golf/IGA staff will be able to assist in any difficulties.

GAME FORMATS

  • Two-person Best-Ball Stableford (Fourball)
    • Teams will divided into flights based on team handicap index
    • Daily and 3-day total payouts for gross and net results within each flight
  • Daily Gross/Net Flighted Skins Game
    • Players will be flighted based off of handicap index.
  • Eclectic
    • Based off of gross and net individual scores on the Firecliff course only (Day 1 &3)
    • The best score on each hole between the 1st and 3rd days will be used to determine the lowest possible score.
    • EXAMPLE: On hole 1, Day one you make a 5 and day three you make a 4. The 4 will be used for your score for that hole.
    • Gross and net payouts for each flight.
  • Closest to the Pin - Contest will be divided among men and women for each round.

PRACTICE ROUND

Practice rounds are not included in the entry fee. Players are welcome to book additional rounds of golf by visiting the Desert Willow website. Players may play the same course on the same day the event is being held. 

FOOD SERVICE (NO-HOST)

The Terrace at Desert Willow will open for breakfast service from 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Lunch service will begin from 11:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

COCKTAIL HOUR

A hosted cocktail hour will be available to all players after each round. Each participant will be given two drink tickets after turning in their cards at the completion of each round

METHODS OF PAYMENT

Desert Willow accepts all major credit cards and cash.

HOURS OF OPERATION

The golf shop will open at 6:00 a.m.

RANGE BALLS

Use of the practice facility is included with entry. The practice facility will remain open until 4:00 p.m. each day.

CARTS

Automotive Carts will be provided. Each Player must ride in a cart

CADDIES

Host club caddies will not be available. A player may provide his/her own caddie.

PRIZES

Merchandise credit won during Round 1 and Round 2 of the event will be to the Desert Willow Golf Shop. Merchandise credit won during Round 3 and final payouts will be distributed to the player’s home course.

DRESS CODE

Players and caddies must be neat in appearance with respect to personal grooming and clothing while on host club property. The WA Golf Dress Code Policy is available at the following link: wagolf.org/policies and will be provided to all players, along with any additional measures required by the host club, in the Player Memorandum.

CODE OF CONDUCT

WA Golf expects all contestants and guests to exhibit proper conduct and behavior on the golf course and anywhere on club property during a WA Golf event. Unbecoming conduct or behavior may be grounds for immediate disqualification, at any time, from any WA Golf event. The following are some examples of unbecoming conduct or behavior:

  • Repeated use of loud, abusive, and/or profane language
  • Throwing and/or breaking equipment (club, ball, etc.) in anger or frustration
  • Damaging host club, WA Golf, and/or fellow contestant property
  • Public criticism or verbal abuse of host club, officials, volunteers or staff, and/or WA Golf volunteers, staff or fellow contestants
  • Potential endangerment of others
  • Intentionally violating stated club policy
  • Violation of WA Golf Dress Code and/or Footwear Policy
  • Other conduct deemed unbecoming

The Staff-in-Charge of the event shall be the sole judge of determining Conduct Code violations.
