DATES: December 16-19, 2024
FORMAT: Match play within age divisions. There will be two separate divisions of the Match Play Championship – an Open Division and a Senior Division (ages 50+).
All players must select the division in which they wish to compete when they submit the Golf Genius entry.
Players will play one round of Stroke Play Qualifying at Gross to determine which Match Play Seed they will be placed into (all ties for seeding would be determined via the USGA Tie Breaking method - 9, 6, 3, 1):
OPEN DIVISION:
Seeds 1 - 8 = Championship Bracket (played at GROSS, competing for the Overall title and POY Points)
Seeds 9 - 16 = Bracket 2 (played at NET using 100% of your allotted Handicap Index off the low)
Seeds 17 - 24 = Bracket 3 (played at NET using 100% of your allotted Handicap Index off the low)
SENIOR DIVISION:
Seeds 1 - 8 = Championship Bracket (played at GROSS, competing for the Overall Senior title and Senior POY Points)
Seeds 9 - 16 = Bracket 2 (played at NET using 100% of your allotted Handicap Index off the low)
Seeds 17 - 24 = Bracket 3 (played at NET using 100% of your allotted Handicap Index off the low)
Players are guaranteed 2 rounds total (NOT TWO MATCHES JUST TWO ROUNDS).
FIELD SIZE: 48 players total (24 from each division)
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Friday, December 06, 2024 at 4 p.m.
YARDAGE: Event yardage will be posted on the website. We will change hole yardages throughout the week.
ELIGIBILITY: All players must have an active membership with an AGA Member Club to participate.

Monday, Dec. 16 Stroke Play Qualifying Round

Tuesday, Dec. 17 Match Play Round of 8

Wednesday, Dec. 18 Match Play Semi Finals Round

Thursday, Dec. 19 Match Play Finals Round

PRACTICE ROUNDS: Practice rounds will be available by calling the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes golf shop. Please mention you are playing in the AGA event.
HANDICAP ALLOWANCES: Stroke Play qualifying round will be played at Gross to determine which seed players will be. Brackets 2 and 3 will be played at NET using 100% of the players indexes off the low Handicap player.
HANDICAP: Revision used for event: December 9, 2024.
PAIRINGS: Round 1 pairings will be emailed to participants by end of day on December 9th.
PRACTICE FACILITY: Will be available one hour prior to play.
CADDIES: Caddies are permitted for the event. They must agree to walk unless there is an available seat in one of the player’s carts. Caddies riding in a cart MUST NOT displace a player.
GOLF CARTS: Cart fees are included in tournament entry fee, however, players may walk if desired. Maximum of two riders per cart and maximum of two carts per group.
In addition, the following policies will be enforced:
- Spectator carts are not permitted for insurance reasons, NO EXCEPTIONS.
- Carts are assigned only to contestants. A caddie may use a cart only if a contestant is not displaced by such use.
- Restrictions on cart use for players are at the discretion of the Host Site and all players are bound by those requirements, subject to withdrawal for violations of that policy. Any such restrictions will be posted at the tournament site.
- Carts must be kept on paths if available near greens and tees.
- Any non-player riding with a player is considered a caddie and subject to any potential Rules violations.
- Pull carts are permitted as long as not in conflict with the Host Club rules.
WITHDRAW POLICY:
- Players who withdraw prior to the close of registration will receive 75% of the entry fee, regardless of reason. (TPA members get 100% if they withdraw prior to close of registration.)
- Players who withdraw after the close of registration and prior to 72 hours of the event will receive 50% of the entry fee, regardless of reason.
- Players who withdraw within 72 hours (3 days) of the first day of the event, will not receive a refund.
Players may withdraw by calling the AGA office (602) 944-3035 during normal business hours or calling the Withdraw Line at (602) 944-3035 ext. 210 and leaving a message.
PAYOUTS: Specific payout amounts will be posted at the event. Gift cards will be given to winners following the event.
