History of the Fall Cup Championship: The Fall Cup Championship was first played at Acushnet River Valley Golf Course on October 21, 2009, with 6 regions represented. Cohasset Golf Club won the Gross Division and Country Club of New Bedford won the Net Division. Last Year, Oakley CC won the 2023 Gross Division and Scituate Country Club won the 2023 Net Division.
Format:
- 18 holes of Four-Ball stroke play, gross and net (commonly known as Best-Ball)
- Each team's score will be determined by its aggregate score.
- Partners for each team will be paired by handicap index, low to high.
Handicaps: 85% Playing Handicap™ as of September 30th, 2024
Tees: Women will be playing from Mass Golf red tee markers from ~4,973 yards
Starting Time: 10:00 a.m. Shotgun Start
Scorecards: Paper scorecards will be provided to all participants for the player’s own notes. All paper scorecards are considered UNOFFICIAL. The official scorecard will be the mobile Golf Genius app scoring. Prior to the tournament, players should download the Golf Genius app. Click HERE for mobile scoring instructions. You will be provided a GGID number on your scorecards and that is the number you type into the app to see your foursome and enter scores.
Practice Areas: Driving range and short game area open beginning at 8:00 a.m.
Pace of Play: Pace for this round is 4 hours and 30 minutes. Please ensure that you are keeping within a hole of the group in front of you.
Scoring: At the end of the round all scores must be verified by the team before your team’s designated app scorekeeper and unofficial written scorekeeper reports to the scoring tent. Mass Golf staff will verify with the designated scorekeepers that their scores are accurate and will take a verbal yes as a confirmation/signature.
Awards: Fall Cup region winners will receive a special hat/ball marker clip. Ties honored for first place gross and net only. All other ties will be decided by matching cards in accordance with the USGA recommended method. Prize certificates will be given out and must be redeemed at Wedgewood Pines Country Club..
Rules of Golf: The USGA® Rules of Golf, Local Rules and Terms of Competitions for Mass Golf Tournaments govern all play.
Mass Golf Policies & Procedures: Please refer to Policies & Procedures and Pace of Play Policy.
Distance-Measuring Devices: Permitted as specified in Mass Golf Policies & Procedures.
Bathrooms: Bathrooms are located in the clubhouse, locker room and 15th hole.
Water and Snacks: Mass Golf will provide bottled water on carts,
Food and Beverage: Coffee and danish will be available prior to the round. A barbecue lunch will be available to pick up at the turn. Cash and credit cards accepted for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. A beverage cart will be available during the round.
DECISIONS BY THE COMMITTEE IN ATTENDANCE ARE FINAL.
