Qualifier - 22nd Northern Junior Championship

Sunday, June 9th - Wintonbury Hills Golf Course

 

Format: All participants will play 18 holes of stroke play on Sunday, June 9th. A total of six (6) boys and three (3) girls, plus ties, will advance to the 22nd Northern Junior Championship (August 5-7 at The Hartford Golf Club). There will be no playoffs to determine the final spot and all ties for the last spot will advance.

 

Alternate Procedure: An alternate pool will be formed that includes ALL players from each qualifying site with the next best score after the cut line. After qualifying, all players in the pool will then be randomly ranked by number as alternates. The alternate list for the Championship Proper will be published, posted online and updated as players are added to the Championship Proper.

Registration: There will be no registration table. We ask that players be on the tee 10 minutes before their starting time in order to receive pertinent information and materials from the starter.

 

Practice Rounds:  Practice rounds are available for all competitors based on course availability and at their own expense. Players must call the Wintonbury Hills Golf Course at (860) 242-1401 to book a practice round.

 

Rangefinders and GPS System: Rangefinders and GPS systems will be permitted during the competition, provided the player uses a device to measure distance only. If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g., gradient, wind speed, temperature, etc.), the player will be disqualified.

 

Dress Code: The Northern Junior Championship has a dress code policy which all players must adhere to. All players and spectators are required to wear a collared shirt which must be tucked in at all times. Jeans are not allowed and hats must be worn in a traditional manner. Failure to comply will result in disqualification.

 

Withdrawals & Refund Policy: Any player wishing to withdraw must notify the tournament office at tournament@northernjunior.com. 

 

Other Information:

• Golf carts and spectator carts are not allowed without prior approval and will only be permitted in accordance with ADA guidelines.
• Caddies are not permitted during tournament play
• Non-motorized push/pull carts are permitted
