2024 Rules of Competition

Format:

Nine Hole, Four Ball Match Play is a match in which two sides, each consisting of two golfers, play each other using better-ball scoring. Each golfer in the match plays his or her own ball.

Tees:

Champions Flight - Tournament Tees

Flight 1 - Silver Tees

Flights 2 - 9 - Tournament Tees

Flights 10 - Silver/Jade Hybrid Tee

Ladies - Tournament Tees

 

Scoring:

Players will be provided GGIDs to enter scores into Golf Genius. Each group will be provided one paper backup scorecard, this scorecard will include the GGID code. Scores entered into Golf Genius will be the official score, the paper backup is un-official and will not be turned in following completion of a match. ½ point hole tied 1 point hole won ½ point for a match halved 1 bonus point for a match won Flight winners will be determined by the highest cumulative total after all five matches. In the event of a tie in a flight, the head-to-head matchup between teams will break the tie.

Handicaps & Pairings:

Handicaps are 90% of player’s course handicap.

Additional reduction of 10% for teams with 8 point differential between handicaps

​​​​Matches are stroked off the low handicap player in each match.

Half Strokes will be calculated.

Handicap Revision as of May 30, 2024.

Six two person teams are in each flight.

Matches consist of two 9-hole matches on Thursday, two 9-hole matches on Friday, and one 9-hole match on Saturday.

Handicap Committee reserves the right to adjust any player's handicap. Adjustments have been made prior to the start of the event based on the committee's recommendations. 

Grand Shootout: 

Flight Winners & Wild Card *Wild Card is determined by the team with the highest points earned during Round 5.

Local Rules:

Local roads are deemed Out-of-Bounds on holes 1, 2 and 11, Residential areas are marked as Out-of-Bounds; please do not enter homeowners’ yards.

Please use USGA Rule E-5 Alternative to Stoke and Distance for lost ball or Ball Out of Bounds.

There are drop areas available on holes 5, 9, 13, 15, and 16.

Players are entitled to relief from sprinkler heads and drains in the general area on their line to the pin.

Free relief from staked trees and flower beds.

Full Field Event, groups must maintain pace with the group in front of them. Any groups asked to skip ahead to get back into position will record net pars and halved holes for any holes not completed. 

Please repair ball marks and fill divots with sand.

Player Assistants are provided for the benefit of all golfers. Golfers are required to follow their instructions.
