Terms of Competition
Similar to the Maine high school state championships, the Maine Junior Open series is an individual and team championship at the same time, played over a season of May-August. The team championship is an "optional" additional opportunity to play with a teammate, friend or acquaintance. It is not mandatory to have a teammate to play in the event.
Teams will be comprised of two players. Players may select their teammate however they see fit. There are no restrictions. Teams will be flighted based on the age of the older player of the two participants.
Individuals that want to play as individuals only, are encouraged to compete at the same time for the overall medalist. The individual medalist will be the Maine Junior Champion. We will have flights for the individual winners as well.
ELIGIBILITY
The Maine Junior Individual and team Championship is open to Maine resident and non-resident amateurs who have not yet reached their 19th birthday on June 28, 2024. If more than 40 players register, the low 40 Handicap Indexes will be accepted into the competition. Maximum allowed Handicap Index of 16.0.
