The Twin States Junior Girls' Championship began in 1967 and has a very long history with many great champions. The Women's Carolinas Golf Association administered the championship until 2007 when the organization transferred the tournament to the Carolinas Golf Association. The championship is conducted at 36 holes of stroke play competition. There is only one division in this championship. Entry is open to any female amateur golfer who is under the age of 19 as of the final round date, who has not started college, maintains a residence in North Carolina or South Carolina, is a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association and has an active GHIN® USGA Handicap Index®.
The Carolinas Girls 15 & Under Championship began in 2007 and introduces tournament play to less experienced junior girl golfers. The event schedule is designed to introduce HOW to compete in a junior girls' event with lots of help along the way. Players may choose from three different divisions, based on their comfort and skill level. Many Rules officials will be available to help players learn how to navigate the golf course and apply basic rules knowledge on the course. The championship is conducted at 36 holes of stroke play competition for the Junior and Championship divisions and 18 holes of stroke play competition (9 holes each day) for the Sub-Junior division. Entry is open to any female amateur golfer who has not reached her 16th birthday as of the date of the final round, who has not started college, maintains a residence in North Carolina or South Carolina, and is a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association and has an active GHIN® USGA Handicap Index®.
