About The Men's Club
The Temple Beth-El Men’s Club is a fellowship of adult male congregants of Temple Beth-El (Northbrook, IL), which exists for the primary purpose of fostering a male oriented social agenda, within the framework of supporting our synagogue and the greater Jewish community.
We've accomplished many wonderful things:
- We've sponsored and hosted several programs, including The BIG Breakfast for our religious school parents (in both September and January);
- Hosted numerous Sunday Brunch events with speakers like Ron Balson, who discussed his recent best-selling books ('Once We Were Brothers', 'Saving Sophie' and 'Karolina's Twins';
- Hosted several 'Boys Night Out' events, like Monday Night Football (Bears), Thursday Night Hockey (Blackhawks), and our sold-outWinter BBQ at Rub’s Backcountry Smokehouse;
- We also hosted a Tisch with Rabbi Helbraun and a Yom HaShoah program in cooperation with the Illinois Holocaust Center, for our members and 6th & 7th grade students.
Our Men’s Club agenda also includes:
- Support of summer camp scholarships;
- Sponsorship of the TBE Men’s Club Softball team;
- Sponsorship of various TBE community, artist-in-residence, Bingo Night and other community programs;
- Leadership on several special and significant projects around the temple campus, including annual maintenance of our meditation garden;
- During the past year we helped facilitate roof repairs and (partial) replacement;
- We donated a new Sukkah, and;
- We are in the process of replacing the TBE sign that fronts Dundee Road.
All in all, our Men’s Club is doing great things for our community and we can only do this with the support of members and friends like you!
