Registration Opens May 13 at 8:00am Note: Each player must have an active GHIN and player profile created to register for the event. Click HERE to create a profile. This is the State Senior Match Play Championship. Matches are played at scratch (no handicap) and players must have reached their 50th birthday by the start of the championship.

Entry Fee: $265 per competitor
Field Size: 16 entrants. NOTE: Tournament is filled on a first come, first served basis using the registration date and time. If a tournament is oversubscribed, a wait list will be maintained in case of cancellation.
Age Requirement: Players must have reached their 50th birthday on or before July 8.
Handicap Details: 15.0 max NOTE: Senior Championship matches will be played at scratch, no handicap.
Revision Date: July 1
Format: Individual Match Play. The Championship will be played using the PGA TOUR style Pod Play/Round Robin system, with matches played at scratch, no handicap. Players who register for the championship will play at least three (3) matches in the championship. Players will be seeded by handicap index, except the defending champion who will be seeded number 1 if applicable. After each player is seeded, players will be evenly split into four (4) pods with four (4) players in each pod (see pod structure below). During pod play, players compete in three 18-hole matches against each of the other three players in their pod (see schedule below). The winner of each pod will advance to the semi-finals, and the single elimination rounds will begin.

Player Seeding: Players will be seeded 1 – 16, based on their handicap index as of the revision date above, excluding the defending champion who will be seeded #1, if applicable. Player seeding will be available under the championship information tab.
Pod Structure: Pod Structure will be weighted evenly with pod 1 containing 1v16 and 8v9, pod 2 containing 2v15 and 7v10, pod 3 containing 3v14. and 6v11, pod 4 containing 4v13 and 5v12. Pod structure will be available under the championship information tab.
Pod Play Scoring: There will be no extra holes during the pod play portion of matches. Scoring during pod play will be as follows: Match Won – 1 point | Match Tied – ½ point | Match Lost – 0 Points. Note: If there is a tie for the pod winner, a sudden death playoff will determine the person advancing from that pod.
Starting Times: Beginning at either 7:00am or 8:20am Monday-Wednesday. Beginning at 7:20am on Thursday.

Groupings: Players will play in groups of four (4) during Pod Play. There will be two matches taking place at each tee time.
Carts: Carts are optional, included in entry fee. NOTE: Only two carts are allowed per group.
Caddies: Caddies are allowed. NOTE: Caddies are not guaranteed a seat in a cart. Only two carts are allowed per group. Players have priority for carts over caddies.
Prizes: Merchandise gift certificates are awarded to the winner, runner-up, semi-finalists and pod play runners-up. The championship winner and runner-up will each receive a trophy. The winner will be the state match play champion.

Yardage Sheet: Will be available under the Championship Information tab.
Electronic Scoring: Players will use their Golf Genius app to score their match as they play. The winner of the match will report the status of the match to the committee.
Food & Beverage: Will be available for purchase.
Score Posting: The CGA does not post match play scores. The course and slope rating will be available on the yardage sheet. |
