FIELD LIMIT
Field will be limited to 120 qualified entrants. At the close of entry, the field of 120 will be filled by exempt players and players who advance from the five qualifiers.
ENTRY DEADLINE
Entry applications, along with the appropriate fee, must be completed or received by WA Golf by 12:00 p.m. on Monday, June 3, 2024.
REFUND POLICY
Refunds due to cancellation before the close of entry are subject to a $10 service charge. After the close of entry and up until round one pairings are released, players who withdraw for any reason will be refunded 50% of the entry fee. No refund for any reason will be issued after round one parings have been released.
Course yardage is subject to change based on weather/course conditions. Hole-by-hole yardages are posted on the championship portal and will be emailed to players. Course Yardage: 7,297 yards, par-72
ONSITE REGISTRATION
All contestants must register in person with WA Golf at The Links at Moses Pointe prior to the championship. Registration will be located near the putting green during the following times:
MONDAY, JUNE 24: 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
TUESDAY, JUNE 25: 6:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS
Round one and two starting times will be released on Monday, June 17. Contestants will be re-paired by gross scores for the final round, with the leaders starting last. Preferred starting time requests will not be accepted. Starting times will be posted on the WA Golf website (WAgolf.org), on the Championship Portal and will be emailed to each player.
SCHEDULE
54-hole stroke play. In the event of a tie for the championship, a hole-by-hole playoff will be held immediately following play to determine the winner.
TUESDAY, JUNE 25: Starting times off the #1 tee from 7:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 26: Starting times off the #1 tee from 7:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
THURSDAY, JUNE 27: Starting times off the #1 tee from 7:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
PRACTICE ROUND
Contestants may play one complimentary practice round prior to the championship. Practice rounds will be available on Monday, June 24 for all players beginning at 12:00 p.m. All practice round starting times are at the discretion of the golf shop staff. Practice round starting times can be made by calling The Links at Moses Pointe golf shop at (509) 764-2275 ext 3, beginning on Monday, June 17 after qualifying is complete and the field is set.
FOOD SERVICE (NO-HOST)
Food service will only be available in the clubhouse restaurant from 6:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. each day. Grab and go breakfast items along with drinks and snacks will be available in the morning. A full menu will be available for lunch and dinner.
BOTTLED WATER
WA Golf will provide bottled water during the championship. Coolers will be at multiple locations on the golf course. Players must properly dispose of all empty water bottles and must not place them back in a cooler or on the ground next to coolers. Failure to properly dispose of empty water bottles in a violation of the WA Golf Code of Conduct and may result in penalty. A beverage cart will not be on the course during play. METHODS OF PAYMENT
The Links at Moses Pointe accepts all major credit cards and cash.
HOURS OF OPERATION
The golf shop and driving range will open at 6:00 a.m. and close at dusk each day.
RANGE BALLS
Warm up range balls will be provided to contestants on the driving range before each round.
CARTS
The Local Rule prohibiting the use of motorized transportation for competitors as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect.
SPECTATOR CARTS
To provide an equal championship platform for all competitors, the use of carts by spectators is not permitted by WA Golf.
CHAMPIONSHIP ACCOMMODATIONS FOR DISABLED SPECTATORS
WA Golf is committed to providing an enjoyable spectator experience for people with disabilities at WA Golf Championships. Requests from spectators seeking transportation onto the golf course due to a permanent disability, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), should be submitted one week in advance to the WA Golf Championship Department. While spectator carts may not always be available at each site, WA Golf will make every effort to accommodate these requests when available.
Generally, an ADA covered disability is defined as a “physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more of the major life activities of the individual”. See, 42 USCA §12102. Spectators with a “temporary” injury or impairment that is not an ADA disability will not be allowed use of a golf cart under this Policy.
Spectators with transportation needs must contact the WA Golf Championship Department prior to the championship. This full policy is available at the following link: wagolf.org/policies.
PULL CARTS
Pull carts are permitted. Host club pull carts are available to rent for $7. Players may provide their own pull cart.
CADDIES
Host club caddies will not be readily available. Players can call The Links at Moses Pointe pro shop to inquire about caddies and accommodations will be made if a caddie can be found. Contestants may provide their own caddie. Caddies will be required to wear a caddie bib provided on the starting tee.
PRIZES
All prizes will be awarded according to 54-hole scores. In addition to the below awards, a $5,000 merchandise payout will be distributed to top finishing players. All merchandise credit is redeemable in The Links at Moses Pointe golf shop.
Champion & Runner-up: Crystal trophy
Top-10: Crystal medallion
Awards will be given to any contestant who scores a hole-in-one or eagle during the championship.
AWARDS CEREMONY
WA Golf will host an awards ceremony on the putting green on Thursday, June 27 immediately upon completion of play.
USGA AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP EXEMPTION
The Washington Men’s Amateur is a USGA Exemption Event. The champion will earn an exemption into the 2024 U.S. Amateur Championship held at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minn. on August 12-18, 2024. The top three finishers will earn an exemption into final stage qualifying for the 2025 U.S. Amateur Championship.
STATE AND REGIONAL EXEMPTIONS
Champion earns an exemption into the following events:
- Lifetime exemption into the Washington Men’s Amateur Championship
- 2025 Washington Champion of Champions
- 2025 Pacific Northwest Men’s Amateur Championship
- 2025 Pacific Coast Amateur Championship
PERFORMANCE POINTS LIST
Points for the Washington Men’s Amateur are allocated as follows: Champion (125), Runner-up (100), Top-5 (75), Top-10 (50), Top-15 (25), Top-20 (15) and Top-30 (5) finishers.
GHIN SCORE POSTING
WA Golf will post competition scores for all players to the USGA GHIN System.
DRESS CODE
Players and caddies must be neat in appearance with respect to personal grooming and clothing while on host club property. The WA Golf Dress Code Policy is available at the following link: wagolf.org/policies and will be provided to all players, along with any additional measures required by the host club, in the Player Memorandum.
CODE OF CONDUCT
WA Golf expects all contestants, caddies, gallery, and guests to exhibit proper conduct and behavior on the golf course and anywhere on club property during a WA Golf Championship. Unbecoming conduct or behavior may be grounds for immediate disqualification, at any time, from any WA Golf event. The following are some examples of unbecoming conduct or behavior:
- Repeated use of loud, abusive, and/or profane language
- Throwing and/or breaking equipment (club, ball, etc.) in anger or frustration
- Damaging host club, WA Golf, and/or fellow contestant property
- Public criticism or verbal abuse of host club, officials, volunteers or staff, and/or WA Golf volunteers, staff or fellow contestants
- Potential endangerment of others
- Intentionally violating stated club policy
- Violation of WA Golf Dress Code and/or Footwear Policy
- Littering or other improper disposal of water bottles, including placing next to on-course coolers
- Other conduct deemed unbecoming
The Committee in charge of the competition shall be the sole judge of determining Conduct Code violations.
UNOFFICIAL WITHDRAWAL
During play of the championship, a competitor who withdraws must notify WA Golf staff and fill out a withdraw form. Entrants who unofficially withdraw (by not notifying WA Golf staff or without having sufficient reason to withdraw) will not be granted entry into any future WA Golf championship for a minimum of two years.
PACE OF PLAY POLICY
Players are encouraged to be familiar with WA Golf’s Pace of Play Policy, which is in effect at all championships.
LOCAL RULES AND TERMS OF THE COMPETITION
Players are encouraged to be familiar with WA Golf’s 2024 Local Rules and Terms of the Competition, which will be in effect at all championships.
PROHIBITED USE OF AUDIO EQUIPMENT
Rule 4.3 is modified in this way: During a round, a player is not allowed to use an electronic device to listen to music or other audio (such as podcasts or the like), including by using speakers, headphones or earbuds. Penalty for breach of Local Rule - see Rule 4.3.
