TERMS OF THE COMPETITION

ELIGIBILITY

This championship is open to teams consisting of four male amateur golfers who are at least 55 years old as of September 17, 2024 and are members of the same SDGA member club.

 

ENTRIES, DEADLINE, AND REFUND POLICY

  • Entries: An entry must be submitted with payment prior to the deadline. Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.

  • Entry Fee: $220 per team. This includes one round of golf, cart, prizes, and awards.

  • Deadline: Entries must be received prior to the deadline (12PM EST on Thursday, September 12, 2024). Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.

  • Refund Policy:

    • Withdrawal PRIOR TO entry deadline: Entry fee less $20

    • Withdrawal AFTER entry deadline: Entry fee less $50

    • Withdrawal WITHIN 2 DAYS of the competition: No Refund

 

FORMAT

This championship's format is 18 holes. Two teams of two. Each team will compete using a Best Ball format. Both best ball scores are counted towards the team score. The team with the lowest combined Best Ball score will be declared the champion. Ties will be broken by the lowest of the two, two man team Best Ball scores. If there is still a tie, the lowest 9 hole Best Ball scores will be compared. If a tie still exists, both two man team Best Ball scores will be used as an aggregate score starting from the 1st handicap hole and working back until the tie is broken.

 

Tees

All players will play the white tees. 

 

FIELD SIZE

There is one team per SDGA member club limit, max of 20 teams. If the 20 team max is not met, clubs may enter a second team based on a wait list.

 

RULES

All play will be governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. Players will be provided a "Notice to Players" rules sheet containing local rules and conditions. The SDGA will have volunteer Rules Officials on the course to provide rulings and answer questions.

AWARDS AND PRIZES

A plaque will be awarded to the winning team for display at their home course. Gift certificates will be awarded to approximately 20% of the field.

 

FOOD & BEVERAGE

The club's halfway house will be open during the event (cash only). No food is included with this event.

 

CART AND DRIVING RANGE

The use of a cart is included in the entry. All players must ride. Range balls will be available in the ProShop for $5. Limited distance range.
