NOTICE TO PLAYERS 

Spring Triple Threat – Terradyne Country Club Tuesday, May 14th 

This information supplements the Local Rules and Terms of the Competition for 2024 CLG Hard Card, Pace of Play Guidelines/Procedures, Code of Conduct policy and event entry formPosted course local rules do not apply. 

 

Teeing Ground 

CLG Tee Markers define the teeing area 

 

Penalty Areas - Penalty areas are defined by red or yellow lines.  Stakes are used to identify the penalty area, but do not define the edge of the penalty area.  When lines are not present, red penalty areas are also defined as areas of native grass and unmarked wooded areas defined by the natural change or mow line of the height of the grass. Rule 17.1.   

 

Playing Two Balls When Uncertain What to Do - When a player is uncertain what to do or an official is not available, he may complete the hole with two balls and report to the committee for a rulingRule 20.1c(3). 

 

Sprinkler Head Interference Near Putting Greens – The Model Local Rule F-5 as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect if a ball lies through the green and an immovable obstruction on or within two club-lengths of the putting green and within two club-lengths of the ball intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, the player may take relief as follows:  The ball must be lifted and dropped in the relief area that is (a) is not nearer the hole, (b) avoids intervention and (c) is not in a penalty area or on a putting green.  
 

Ground Under Repair – Ground under repair is encircled with white lines or as defined on the Central Links Golf hard card. 
 
Out of Bounds  
Out of bounds can be identified by white lines, white stakes, rock walls, iron fence, concrete street curbsWhen white stakes are present along the mow line, the mow line defines the out of bounds line if white paint lines are not presentThe inside points of the stake or fence post at ground level define the boundaryA ball that crosses over or under a roadway that defines the course boundary and then comes to rest on another part of the course is out-of-bounds.  

 

Pace of Play 

Please keep pace with the group in front of you. If you become more than one hole behind the group in front of you, you will be asked to speed up play. 

 

Maximum Score Format 

The maximum score allowed is 9. If you have reached 9 strokes (including actual strokes and penalty strokes) and are not in the hole, please pick up and write a 9 on your scorecardIf you fail to hole out, you will receive a 9 for the hole. 

 

Formats 

Holes 1-6: Four Ball – both players play their own ball. Record both GROSS SCORES ONLY on the scorecardBoth players do not have to hole out, but the scores must be individually identifiable.   

 

Holes 7-12: Chapman Alternate Shot – both players tee off, each player plays her partner’s tee shot. Select the best second shot and continue alternating through completion of the holeRecord the TEAM GROSS SCORE ONLY on the top line of the scorecard.   

 

Holes 13-18: Scramble both players tee off, select the best shot, then both players play from thereContinue in that fashion until the ball is holed.  Record the TEAM GROSS SCORE ONLY on the top line of the scorecard Both players may lift/clean and place the ball within one competition scorecard-length of where the selected ball lies and cannot change the cut of grass. Example: if your selected ball is in the rough and a scorecard length can get you to the fairway, you must stay in the rough. This applies to the fringe around the greens.  

 

Ties All Ties will be decided using the aggregate score of the Chapman Alternate Shot format, then the Four Ball format, then the Scramble formatIf the tie still cannot be resolved, it will be split for flights and a chip off for Overall winners.
