U.S. AMATEUR FINAL QUALIFIER

18-Hole Qualifying

Date: Monday, July 22, 2024

Venue: The Country Club

Number of qualifying spots: 3

Registration Opens: March 27, 2024

Registration Closes: May 29, 2024

 

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS

Players will be allowed one practice round. They may call the club directly to schedule and the club will work with players to find an acceptable time/date in between 7/16-7/21. Players will be charged for carts only ($20 + tax). Caddies will not be allowed to play.

 

DRESS CODE

Players and their caddies must abide by the dress code of the host facility. Please see the tab in Qualifier Info for the specific dress code of The Country Club. Each player is responsible to know the dress code and is subject to review by the tournament committee.  

 

LIMITED LOCKER ROOM ACCESS

The locker room will be made available for players to shower after their round on the day of the qualifier. However, there will be no lockers available for day use.

 

HALFWAY HOUSE - CASH ONLY

The halfway house will be open on Sunday & Monday for players, caddies, and spectators. The menu will be cash only, no credit cards will be accepted.

 

DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES

In local and final qualifying, a player may obtain distance information by use of a distance-measuring device. If during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (eg. elevation changes, wind speed etc.) the player is in breach of Rule 4-3.

 

CLUBS: GROOVES

In Local and Sectional qualifying and in the Championship proper, the player's clubs must conform to the groove and punch mark specifications in The Rules of Golf that are effective from January 1, 2010.  PENALTY FOR MAKING STROKE WITH CLUB IN BREACH OF CONDITION: Disqualification.

 

CADDIES 

Qualifying Rounds - A player may provide his own caddie. If he wishes to have the host club furnish a caddie, he should ask the Official in Charge because sufficient caddies may not be available at the host club.

Championship proper - A player may provide his own caddie. If he wishes to have a caddie provided to him by the host club, he must complete the information as outlined in the Memorandum to Players. A player is not required to employ a caddie for any stage of the Championship.

 

FOOTWEAR

It is a condition at all qualifying sites unless otherwise indicated by an asterisk on this entry application that shoes with traditionally-designed spikes (regardless of composition, i.e., ceramic, plastic, etc.) or spikes, regardless of design, comprised either entirely or partially of metal (if such metal may come in contact with the course) are prohibited during the stipulated round. Penalty for breach of this condition: DISQUALIFICATION

 

TRANSPORTATION

The Local Rule prohibiting the use of motorized transportation as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect, except at certain Qualifying sites as indicated on this entry application where the caddie only is permitted to use motorized transportation. Model Local Rule G-6.

 

GOLF BALLS; DRIVER HEADS

Only brands of golf balls on the most current USGA List of Conforming Golf Balls and driver heads on the most current USGA List of Conforming Driver Heads may be used. Updated lists may be found on the USGA website at www.usga.org or by contacting the USGA Equipment Standards Department at (908) 234-2300.
