The 2024 VGT Sandpiper Classic is an official event on the VGT with points counting for the 2024 SRIXON/CLEVELAND ORDER of MERIT. This event is an 18-Hole stroke play Championship for Male and Female Amateur Golfers with official Golf Canada or USGA handicap factors (24.0 or less).
Priority Registration for Members – Until August 24th
VGT Members have priority registration over non-members until August 24th at 6pm PST. Non-Members are asked to register as early as possible to establish priority waitlist status. Their registration will show as pending and if the event is not full as of August 24th at 6pm, will be non-members will be admitted in order of the date their registration was received in golf genius.
All players must create a VGT Player Profile in Golf Genius to be eligible to play the 2024 VGT Season.

Full Field Size: 100 Amateurs
Eligibility: This event is open to Male & Female Amateur Golfers with official hcp. Index of 24.0 & less.
Amateur Prizing & Tee-Gifts: Over $5,000 based on 100 players ($50/player)
Prize Payouts:
Players will be entered into the appropriate division based on their current handicap index at or around the registration deadline, and prizing will be based on alternating gross & net scores. The top 25% of each division will make the prize table. Handicap Divisions are broken down as follows:
Men’s Championship Division: Hcp index of 5.0 & under
Women’s Championship Division: Hcp Index of 5.0 & under
Division 1: Hcp index of 5.1 to 10.0 (Men & Women combined)
Division 2: Hcp factor of 10.1 to 16.0 (Men & Women combined)
Division 3: Hcp index of 16.1 to 26.0 (Men & Women combined)
Senior Division: Players 55+ years of age at time of the event and Hcp index of 5.0 & under (Men & Women combined)
*NOTE: There must be a minimum of five players registered in each flight for there to be a separate division. If there are less than 5 players in the Senior Division or either of the Women’s Divisions, these players will play against players from their own handicap flight (either vs. Men in own flight or vs. non-Seniors in their own flight). In these cases, both women and seniors will be provided with an equitable yardage to play against their handicap peers.
ENTRY FEES:
VGT Member: $165+GST = $173.25
Non-member: $210+GST = $220.50
SKINS GAME: $20/player (optional. To play, please add $20 skins payment when registering)

PROGRESSIVE HOLE-IN-ONE JACKPOT
(CURRENT JACKPOT = 3 x $5,000 HOLE-IN-ONE PRIZES – as of July 3/24)
JACKPOT RULES:
- In order to qualify for the Hole-in-one (H.I.O) JACKPOT offered at a VGT event, a player must be entered into the $20 skins game/hole-in-one pot for that event. If there is no winner of the hole-in-one at VGT event, the current hole-in-one pot will carry over to the next event until we have a winner of the jackpot. If by the end of the Summer Tour the jackpot has not been won, the current jackpot will be carried over into the winter Tour schedule commencing in October.
- If the jackpot accumulates to $5,000, it will be cut-off at $5,000 and the first eligible person (see above) to score a hole-in-one on an eligible jackpot hole will receive the $5,000 payout. A secondary Hole-in-one purse will be started as soon as the original jackpot reaches $5,000. From the time the original purse reaches $5,000, moneys collected for the H.I.O purse will accumulate in this secondary pot while the first pot remains at $5,000. The secondary pot will continue to grow until the next eligible player scores a hole-in-one on the designated jackpot hole at a VGT event. The maximum H.I.O purse paid out at any time will be $5,000, and once the pot has reached $5,000, a 3rd and 4th purse (and so on) will be established for future winners.
- Due to the skill difference of Pros versus the Amateurs in the field, we level the playing field for the JACKPOT two ways:
- By allowing the A & B amateurs to tee-off a shorter designated tee-box at various times compared to Professionals and Championship Amateurs.
- VGT hosts numerous Amateur only events where Amateurs have a chance to win the JACKPOT without Pros in the field.
COURSE DETAILS & ADDRESS
Recent winner of the PGA of BC’s “Hidden Gem” awards, is located 75 minutes East of Vancouver and is open to the public 364 days a year. This par 72 course runs 6,500 yards from the back tees, and is gently sloped, featuring four sets of tees for all playing abilities. Canadian course designer, Russ Olsen, has done an amazing job of taking advantage of the spectacular water and mountain vistas when designing this masterpiece. Sandpiper Golf Course has played host to several Vancouver Golf Tour events, most notably the Canada Bread BC Match Play & the VGT’s Inaugural 36-Hole Major Series Event the ‘2013 VGT Sandpiper Open’.
