Practice Rounds: Players may arrange a practice round by contacting the golf shop and identifying themselves as a competitor in the field. Practice rounds will be offered based on club availability within the timeframes listed below.
Availability:
Based on Club availability during the times outlined below – please contact the golf shop at 617-714-1618 and introduce yourself as a competitor to schedule a starting time (no walk-up times will be available). There will be NO Practice Round Availability outside of the below windows. Pace of play will be 4 hours, and all practice rounds will be expected to be played in under 4 hours.
- Tuesday, July 23 - 3:20 – 4:20 PM
- Tuesday, July 30 - 4:00 – 5:00 PM
- Tuesday, August 6 - 2:00 – 3:00 PM
- Sunday, August 11 - 3:00 – 4:00 PM
Notes
- Competitors will be required to pay a mandatory $35 trail/cart fee (Credit Card Only) for their practice round.
- Players may arrive on property one hour prior to their tee time.
- All participants and caddies are expected to abide by the club’s dress code.
- Practice rounds are for competitors only (no caddies, parents, outside spectators, etc.).
- Competitors may be paired with other competitors during their practice round.
- Only one ball may be played per competitor during their practice round.
Starting Times: Play will begin at 7:30 AM off the 1st tee. Pairings & Starting Times will be available after the close of entries and can be accessed by clicking the "Starting Times & Parings" tab above. There will be no registration on the day of the event, please report to your scheduled starting tee to receive local rules, hole locations, scorecard, etc. at least 10 minutes prior to your starting time.
Withdrawals: To withdraw from a qualifier, please login to the USGA Portal and click WITHDRAW and select the Championship and Reason for withdrawing. If applicable, any refund will be processed within 5-7 business days. Once submitted, all withdrawals are final. If you need to withdraw within 48 hours of the qualifier, please also e-mail Steve Yatrousis at syatrousis@massgolf.org.
Qualifying & Alternate Spots Available: 3 Qualifying Spot(s) and 2 Alternate Spots. Qualifying players will advance to the to the 43rd U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship at Kinloch Golf Club (Manakin-Sabot, VA).
Distance Devices: The use of distance measuring devices is permitted.
Caddies & Push Carts: Players are permitted to employ a caddy and/or use a push cart.
Competition Tees/ Yardage: Competition Tees & Yardage are approximate and subject to change. Play will be approximately from 6,850 yards (Black Tee Set) (Par 71).
Golf Shop, Locker Room and Practice Facilities: The practice facilities will be open and available at 6:30am.
Food & Beverage: 10th tee shack will be open (Cash ONLY).
Dress Code: Please observe the USGA dress code as stated in the application.
*Please also review the 2024 USGA Hard Card and other policies located under the tab labeled "USGA Policies" prior to competition.
*There will be no registration on the day of the event - please report to your scheduled starting hole to receive local rules, scorecard, etc. 10 minutes prior to your starting time.
