74th Massachusetts Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship for the Keyes Cup

Entry Fee:

$200.00 – Championship & Tournament Division(s)

$115.00 – Flighted Division

 

Entries Open: 5/15/2024 at 10:00am

Entries Close: 8/21/2024 at 5:00pm

 

Eligibility:

  • Any female amateur golfer (age 25+ as of Sept. 17, 2024) who has an active Mass Golf Membership.
  • Handicap Index® not exceeding 36.0 (at the time of registration).
    • Championship & Tournament Division(s) – Handicap Index® 18.0 or lower
    • Flighted Division (formerly the B, C, D, and E) – Handicap Index® 14.0 or higher (36.0 max)
      • Competitors with a Handicap Index® between 14.0 and 18.0 will have the option to compete in the Championship/Tournament Division(s) OR the Flighted Division
      • All Competitors in the Flighted Division will be placed into evenly distributed flights (1, 2, 3, etc.) after entries close. 
  • Have played and posted 5 rounds at any Mass Golf member club/course within 12 months of the entry close date.

 

Entry Procedures:

Entries and fully paid entry fees must be received through the Mass Golf Online Entry process by 5:00pm EST on the published entry deadline. Entries will be selected in the order they are received (first come, first served).

 

Format:

Championship & Tournament Division(s) – 36 Holes at Stroke Play (gross & net)

 

Flighted Division – 18 Holes at Stroke Play (gross & net) (the number of and size of flights will be determined once entries close).

Playing Handicap (net scores): will be calculated based on the September 12, 2024 Handicap Revision. Handicap Indexes used to determine a competitors Playing Handicap will not exceed 18.0 or 36.0 depending on division.

 

Field:

Championship, Tournament & Flighted Division - limited to 80 players (combined) 

 

Schedule:

Round 1 – September 17 (18 Holes)
Round 2 – September 18 (18 Holes) for only Championship & Tournament Division competitors.
***Any tie for first place (GROSS), in any division, will be decided immediately by a hole-by-hole playoff.

***Any tie(s) based on (NET) results, in any division, will be determined using the USGA recommended method, determined by the score(s) for the last nine, six, three and 18th hole(s) until the tie(s) are decided.

 

Caddies & Automotive Transportation:

Cart fee is included in entry fee for both rounds. Caddies and pull carts (at the host club(s) discretion) are permitted.

 

Food & Beverage:

A complimentary luncheon will be provided for all competitors on September 17.

 

Starting Times:

Championship Proper Starting Times & Player Information will be emailed to all competitors shortly after the entry close date.

 

Practice Rounds:

Practice round privileges are at the discretion of the qualifying site and championship proper host club(s). Mass Golf will provide details surrounding the availability of practice rounds ahead of the scheduled event; please refrain from contacting the host clubs until specific details are received from Mass Golf.

 

Prizes:

Merchandise certificates will be awarded and are only redeemable at the host site.

 

Trophy:
Grace Keyes Cup engraved with low gross scorer from the Championship Division.

Only players in the Championship Division will be eligible to earn Anne Marie Tobin Women’s Player of the Year and Mid-Amateur Award points.

 

Additional Information:

Approx. Yardage (subject to change):
Championship Division – 5,500-5,800 yards
Tournament Division – 5,300-5,600 yards

Flighted Division – 5,000+ yards

Withdrawal & Refund Policy:

Competitors who have submitted an entry for a Mass Golf event and wish to withdraw for any reason, MUST notify the Mass Golf office (email preferred). Entry fee will be refunded less a $20 administrative fee, regardless of reason, if Mass Golf is notified seven (7) days prior to the event. Entry fee will be refunded less 50% for any withdrawals received less than seven (7) days prior to the event. No refund will be processed for a withdrawal notification that is received on the scheduled date of an event.
