74th Massachusetts Women's Mid-Amateur Championship for the Keyes Cup
Tuesday, September 17, 2024 - Wednesday, September 18, 2024
THORNY LEA GOLF CLUB
Format: 36-holes stroke play (18 holes per day for Championship and Tournament Divisions) and 18 holes for the Flighted Division only. Competitors will be competing in three separate divisions (Championship, Tournament & Flighted). In the event of a tie for low-gross in either division, a hole-by-hole play-off will commence immediately following the close of competition (Thorny Lea Golf Club Hole Sequence: 1 & 2). The net competition will be played based on the Thursday, September 12th, 2024 revision.
Rules of Play: The 2023 Rules of Golf are in effect and are supplemented by the Mass Golf Hard Card. The Committee will provide any additional Local Rules needed at the Championship sites. It is the individual player’s responsibility to know the Terms of the Competition.

Golf Carts & Push Carts: The use of automotive transportation (golf carts) is permitted. Carts are Included in the Championship entry fee. The use of push/pull carts is also permitted.
Caddies: Competitors may use a caddie during all rounds of the championship.
Time of Starting:
Round 1 - (Tues., September 17th) 8:00am start off the 1st tee only for ALL 3 divisions.
Round 2 - (Wed., September 18th) 8:00am off the 1st tee only for Championship & Tournament division.
- Competitors will be repaired based on Rd. 1 scores.
Practice Rounds
Dates:
- Call the Golf Shop at 508-586-2171 in order to schedule a practice round. Please identify yourself as a competitor in the field.
- Monday, September 9th - after 1:00 PM
- Tuesday, September 10th - anytime based on club availability
- Sunday, September 16th - limited availability in afternoon based on club availability
Notes:
- Each competitor will be limited to 1 practice round.
- Competitors will be paired up to make foursomes on the day of their practice round.
- Practice rounds will be available for competitors to play (no guests or caddies).
- Players shall play only one golf ball during the practice round.
Course Set-Up: Approximate yardage for each division:
- Championship Division will play from the White/Red/Blue Tee Markers. Tournament Division will play from approximate Black/Green tees. The Flighted Division will play from the Black/Green Tees.

Practice Range: Will be open and available before Round 1 & 2 at 7:00am. 170 yards MAX.

Food & Beverage:
- Tuesday, September 17th
- Sponsored by Mass Golf & will be available starting at 11:30am until 3:00pm. Boxed lunches will be available at the turn (for those playing during lunch) and in the clubhouse.
- Wednesday, September 18th
- Lunch is available at the player's expense starting at 11:00am.
Bathrooms: On course bathrooms are located on the 4th/15th hole and the 10th tee.
Score Posting: All scores from individual stroke play events (qualifiers & championships proper) will be automatically posted to a player’s Mass Golf/USGA Handicap Index by the Mass Golf staff.
Prizes: The Grace Keyes Cup will be engraved with the names of the champions. Trophies will be given to the champion of each division (gross). Merchandise certificates will be awarded (gross & net) and are only redeemable at Thorny Lea Golf Club.
