106th Massachusetts Junior Amateur Championship - Bayberry Hills/Bass River
Monday, August 5th - Thursday, August 8th, 2024
Practice Rounds: Players may arrange a practice round by contacting either golf shop and identifying themselves as a competitor in the field. Practice rounds will be offered based on club availability within the timeframes listed below (no walk-up times will be available). Please refrain from calling outside of normal business hours.

Availability:
- Practice rounds will be available Monday - Thursday after 12:00pm.
- Discounted practice rounds will not be available on Weekends (Friday-Sunday). Players wishing to play on the weekends will be required to book a tee time and pay the standard rate(s) published on their website.
- Parents/Guardians are not allowed to accompany players on the golf course(s) during their practice rounds. Parents/Guardians wishing to accompany players during their practice rounds must pay a standard greens fee and play alongside them.
Notes:
- There will be a mandatory trail fee of $30 - Cash and/or Credit Card accepted.
- Practice rounds will be walking only.
- Push/ Pull carts are permitted during practice rounds and during the Championship proper.
- Only one ball may be played per competitor during their practice round.
- For competitors unable to take advantage of a practice round or wanting to preview the course just ahead of the Championship, competitors may walk (no clubs or golf balls) the course on Sunday, August 4th after 3:00 pm.
- The practice putting green and short game areas will also be available after 3:00 pm - players MUST use their own golf balls.
- The practice range will be available to competitors after 3:00pm on Sunday, August 4th.
Schedule of Play/ Format:
Stroke Play
- August 5th and August 6th – Stroke Play (18-holes/day).
- The low 16 players will advance to Match Play competition on Wednesday, August 7th.
- Any ties for the final Match Play qualifying place(s) will be determined by a hole-by-hole playoff, if needed on August 6th.
- The low 16 players will advance to Match Play competition on Wednesday, August 7th.
Match Play
- August 7th – Round of 16 (AM) and Quarterfinals (PM).
- August 8th – Semifinals (AM) and Finals (18-holes) (PM).
Competition Tees/ Yardage: Approximate yardage for the Championship will be 6,500 yards (Bayberry Hills GC) and 6,000 yards (Bass River GC).
- Bass River GC will be played as a Par 70 (Hole #3 (~415 yards) and Hole #17 (~440 yards) will be played as Par 4s).
Starting Times: Starting times and pairings can be found on the Mass Junior Amateur Championship Homepage. There will be no registration on the day of the event, please report to your scheduled starting tee to receive local rules, hole locations, scorecard, etc. at least 10 minutes prior to your starting time.
Golf Carts, Caddies, Push/Pull Carts: The use of golf carts and/or caddies is NOT PERMITTED at the Massachusetts Junior Amateur Championship. Push/Pull carts are permitted.
Club Facilities: Open and available starting at 7:00am at each facility on each day of the Championship proper.
Food & Beverage Services: Mass Golf will be providing a complimentary luncheon each day of the Championship proper. Additional F&B options will be available (drinks, snacks, etc.) for players/parents/spectators at their own expense.
Practice Range: The practice range, practice putting green(s), and short game area(s) will be open and available starting at 6:30am each day of the Championship.
- Bass River GC does NOT have a driving range - Bayberry Hills GC's driving range will need to be used for both sites - please plan accordingly.
Rules of Play: The 2023 Rules of Golf are in effect and are supplemented by the Mass Golf Hard Card. It is the individual's player's responsibility to know the Terms of the Competition.

Prizes: The Charles E. Mason Trophy will be presented to the Massachusetts Junior Amateur Champion. The Joseph M. Batchelder Memorial Trophy will be presented to the Pre-Junior Champion (low 36-hole scorer at the conclusion of Stroke Play). Merchandise certificates will be awarded to the 16 Match Play qualifiers and are redeemable only at the host site.
