ELIGIBILITY: Participants must legally be husband and wife, and maintain a residence in the state of Iowa.
FIELD: The field will be limited to the first 99 entrants regardless of division. Entries will be on a first come first served basis. All players must ride in host club golf carts.
DIVISIONS & FORMAT: CHECK SCHEDULE FORMAT!!!
- CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION: The Championship Division will consist of 36-holes of modified alternate stroke play. A tie for the Overall Championship will be decided by a hole-by-hole playoff if both teams are on-site on Sunday. In the event of a tie for the Overall Championship and both teams are not on-site on Sunday, Co-Champions will be declared. The Championship Division will have the option of playing Friday-Saturday, Friday-Sunday or Saturday-Sunday.
- SENIOR DIVISION: The Senior Division (110 combined years as of September 13, 2024) will consist of 36-holes of modified alternate stroke play. Play in this division will be conducted from a forward set of tees. A tie for the Senior Division will be decided by a hole-by-hole playoff if both teams are on-site on Sunday. In the event both teams are not on-site on Sunday, Co-Champions will be declared. The Senior Division will have the option of playing any of the sessions.
- SUPER SENIOR DIVISION: The Super-Senior Division (130 combined years as of September 13, 2024) will consist of 36-holes of modified alternate stroke play. Play in this division will be conducted from a forward set of tees. A tie for the Super Senior Division will be decided by a hole-by-hole playoff if both teams are on-site on Sunday. In the event both teams are not on-site on Sunday, Co-Champions will be declared. The Super Senior Division will have the option of playing any of the sessions.
PAIRINGS, TEE TIMES: Entry confirmation & pairings will be emailed from the IGA office after the entry deadline. Pairing information will NOT be sent via standard mail to those who do not provide an email address. Pairings will also be made available on the IGA website, www.iowagolf.org.
PRACTICE PRIVILEGES: Practice rounds are at the discretion of the host club/course in terms of starting times and fees. Players are responsible for scheduling their own tee times with host club. Practice privileges are limited to entrants only. The phone number to call is (319) 234-1125
WITHDRAWALS AND REFUNDS: Entry fees will be refunded if the IGA office is notified on or before September 4, 2024. After September 4th, fees will be refunded only in event of injury or illness. There will be a $20.00 service charge on all refunds.
ENTRIES — FORM, FEE, CLOSING DATE: Entrants are solely responsible for securing and returning entry forms and fees by the due date. You may enter online using a credit card at www.iowagolf.org up to the deadline or until a field limit is met, whichever comes first. Entries must reach the IGA office by 11:59 P.M., September 4th and must be accompanied by the appropriate fee ($250/team). Unsigned or incomplete applications are not acceptable and will be returned. Late entries will be considered only on the basis of field size.
CONDITIONS, SCHEDULES: The IGA reserves the right to alter any of the conditions and schedules herein as needed. This may include, but is not limited to, suspending play to a following day, or canceling current or future rounds. The decision of the Rules and Competitions Committee in any matter shall be final. Under any circumstances, all possible attempts will be made to complete the event in the scheduled number of rounds.
GOLF BALLS; DRIVER HEADS
Only brands of golf balls on the most current USGA List of Conforming Golf Balls and driver heads on the most current USGA List of Conforming Driver Heads may be used. Updated lists may be found on the USGA website at www.usga.org or by contacting the USGA Equipment Standards Department at (908) 234-2300.
PERSONAL APPEARANCE: Players will be neat in appearance with respect to normal personal grooming and clothing at any IGA sponsored championship. Appropriate golf attire is required (no blue jeans or blue jean shorts). Soft spikes are required for all IGA championships.
Ladies: Shirts with or without sleeves; Skirts, Bermuda or mid-thigh shorts, slacks and Capri pants are permitted. Sweatpants, short shorts, halter tops, tank (or spaghetti strap) tops and swimming attire are not permitted.
Men: Shirts with sleeves and collars or mock-neck shirts, Bermuda shorts or slacks are permitted. Sweatpants, swimming attire, tank tops and athletic shorts are not permitted.
PACE OF PLAY: Players will be encouraged to keep pace with the group in front of them and play ready golf.
RULES OF GOLF: Play will be governed by the Rules of Golf. Local rules on scorecards do not apply. Decisions concerning the rules will be settled by the Rules Committee assigned by the IGA and those decisions will be final.
