Thank you for your entry into the 40th  Oregon Net Championship at McNary Golf Club.  Enclosed you will find your starting times for Saturday and Sunday, September 14 – 15, 2024.

TOURNAMENT INFORMATION AND RESULTS: Will all be provided digitally on the OGA’s website or through the Golf Genius App, GGID: 24NETC.

Format: 

Individual: 36-hole stroke play net competition. In the event of a tie, duplicate trophies will be issued. Flights and Course Handicaps will be based on the September 6th Handicap Index. 

 

 

Team: 36-hole stroke play individual and team competition. Teams are made up of four members of the same OGA Member Club. For the team competition the low 3 of 4 individual NET scores each day will represent the team’s aggregate. In the event of a tie for the Team Champion, the unused individual’s Net score of the final round will be counted. If teams are still tied, then the unused individual’s score of the first round will be counted. Should the tie still exist, duplicate awards will be issued. All players competing in the Net Team Championship will also be included in the individual championship and will compete  within their division and handicap flight. 

 

Note: Players will not be paired together in the same groups, instead they will be paired within their own division, and handicap flight. 

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS: Players may call the McNary Golf Shop at 503-393-4653, to make practice round arrangements and may be scheduled on a space available basis. Contestants are eligible for one complimentary practice round. Practice rounds are for contestants only and will not be extended to guests, caddies or family members. You must identify yourself as a Net Championship Contestant in order to receive your free practice round. Players who wish to use their practice round are expected to abide by all club rules including pace of play.

 

COURSE YARDAGE:Yardages and Course Ratings are subject to change at any time by the Committee.

 

Registration: There will be no registration, tee prizes will be handed out after the first round.

 

LUNCH: will be hosted by the OGA on Saturday of the competition.

 

PRACTICE: An area with range balls where players may warm up will be available besides a chipping and practice putting green.  

 

CART RESERVATIONS: Have been reserved on a first come first served basis. Please pay the appropriate fee to the pro shop at the time of rental. There will only be two carts per group allowed.

 

FLIGHTS: Based upon the entries received, the men’s field will be broken into three handicap divisions and the women’s will be broken into two handicap divisions.  See attachment.

As a reminder, all prizes will be awarded based upon “NET” finish.  There will be no gross prizes!

 

SCORE POSTING: will be done by the OGA for each round after the championship has been completed.  The OGA will post each player’s adjusted score to GHIN as a tournament score, for handicapping purposes.

 

PROHIBITIED USE OF AUDIO EQUIPMENT: Rule 4.3 is modified in this way: During a round, a player is not allowed to use an electronic device to listen to music or other audio (such as podcasts or the like), including by using headphones or earbuds. Penalty for breach of Local Rule - see Rule 4.3.

 

OGA DRESS CODE: Proper attire must be worn at all times.  Proper attire does not include spandex body wear, cutoffs, running shorts, short-shorts, tank tops, tee shirts, or denim of any kind.  Neat and clean pants, slacks, cords, or appropriately hemmed, tailored shorts are acceptable, as are sweaters and golf shirts with a collar.  Shoes must be worn at all times. Competitors in violation of this policy will not be permitted to begin play and may have their entry revoked should a violation occur before the close of competition.  In addition to the competitor, a player’s caddie is also required to adhere to the OGA Dress Code.

 

PACE OF PLAY:  The OGA Pace of Play Policy will be in effect. OGA Pace of Play Policy is available on the OGA website and the Starters table.
