FORMAT, FIELD SIZE & DIVISIONS
The championship will be contested over 54 holes of individual stroke play with three (3) divisions; Senior, Super Senior and Legends. Each division will play from separate tees/yardages and separate champions will be recognized in each division.
The field is limited to 144 competitors, with three divisions as outlined below. Please note that if the field size exceeds 90 competitors, there will be a cut at the conclusion of 36 holes of play, based on a pro-rated representation from each division. Additional playing opportunities for those missing a cut will be disclosed at a later date. See ‘Field Cut’ and Note below for additional details.
Senior 55 & Over (84 players)
Super Senior 65 & Over (48 players)
Legends 70 & Over (12 players)
Field Cut: Provided that the starting field size exceeds 90 competitors, at the conclusion of 36 holes the field will be cut to the low 78 players and ties, with a pro-rated representation from each division. The pro-rated allocation of teams making the cut from each division will be reflective of the number of players in each division, relative to the total field size. The determination of total field size, number of players in each division and pro-rated representation of players making the cut (before ties) will be announced in conjunction with pairings being posted.
Update - Field Cut: Players making the cut at the conclusion of 36 holes will be comprised of a pro-rated allocation of each division, based on the starting field when pairings were released on Wednesday, May 17th. The number of players, plus applicable ties, will be as follows: Senior (46), Super Senior (23) and Legends (9), for a total of 78 players and ties. The pro-rated allocation is representative of the size of each division before the cut and was claculated as follows:
Senior 77 players/132 field = .59 (or 59%) | 59% x 78 players = 46 (plus ties)
Super Senior 40 players/132 field = .30 (or 30%) | 30% x 78 players = 23 (plus ties)
Legends 15 players/132 field = .11 (or 11%) | 11% x 78 players = 9 (plus ties)
Note: If a particular division is not full by Wednesday, April 12th and there is a wait list in another division, spots in the field may be filled by those players on the wait list.
